Inspiring Conversations with Caitlyn Delis of Structural Bodywork & Massage Therapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caitlyn Delis.

Hi Caitlyn, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist was definitely what I was meant to do, but not my original intended career. I heard an advertisement in 2013 for a local massage therapy school and thought, “Huh, that sounds cool,” and went to check out the open house that was promoted. After touring the school I fell in love and signed up right away. Massage therapy came into my path at the right time when I truly needed it.
In 2015, I passed my board test, received my license and was ready to dive head first into this new world. Over the years I worked in chiropractic clinics where I learned unique problem solving skills for individuals with injuries. Between that and continued education, I developed my own unique way of how I treat clients-every body is different and responds differently, you just have to listen to what it’s saying, even if it’s not verbally.
Late 2024, I decided to start making moves in starting my own business-just like with the start of my massage therapy journey, the stars aligned and a room for rent in a personal training gym became available. In January of 2025 I officially started seeing clients and launched my business, ‘Structural Bodywork & Massage Therapy.’ I am so grateful for the village I have right around me and the connections I have made since I have taken the leap. It has been the coolest adventure learning how to be a small business owner and working for myself. I am immensely proud of myself for my accomplishments thus far and looking forward to what the future holds!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Massage therapy itself has been the most natural thing for me, that is the easiest part of it all. Everything else around it whether it be in a workplace environment or working through hurtles of being a small business owner, there are always going to be challenges that come into play.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Structural Bodywork & Massage Therapy, I specialize in deep-tissue and therapeutic techniques. I work different from a lot of massage therapists (I have been told over the years and have experienced the differences myself).
First and foremost, I listen to the person and what they’re telling me-typically when someone is coming to me for massage therapy it is because they are in pain. I don’t just want to work on the area only, but I want to figure out where that pain is coming from and treat everything around it. I learn about the person’s life using context clues on what they’re doing throughout their day (job, extracurriculars, sleeping habits, etc.) that could be influencing their pain. I like to involve clients in the treatment too-explain what I am doing, educating them on what the issues could be and keeping them informed.

I’m so proud of the work I do-I truly put my heart and soul into the treatments and care so much about my clients. I want people to know that they don’t have to live in pain and I’ll be on their team cheering them on throughout the process.

For services, I have anywhere from 30-minute to 2-hour appointments, gift certificates and packages.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I love learning more through continued education via my insurance, ABMP.

For personal life- I love thriller/mystery books, fantasy books, and the podcasts Crime Junkie and The Mental Wellness Practice.
