Today we’d like to introduce you to Chau Nguyen
Hi Chau, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m Chau, the creator behind Klaily, a woman-owned small business specializing in handmade polymer clay earrings. My journey began in 2021 when I discovered polymer clay during one of the toughest years of my life. It started as a form of therapy—a way to channel my emotions and find peace amid chaos. Working with clay gave me the creative freedom to heal, express myself, and rediscover joy in a way I had never experienced before.
Having grown up in a family that didn’t view art as a career option, I took it upon myself to turn my passion for art into a thriving business. In early 2023, I officially launched Klaily, starting at local farmers’ markets, events, and festivals across Florida. My designs, inspired by the elegance and cuteness I wanted to bring to life, resonated deeply with customers who appreciated their intricate details and lightweight feel. Whether it’s boho-style sun and moon motifs or festive designs like Christmas trees and glittery resin threaders, each piece is handmade and tells its own story.
In August 2024, I made the bold decision to leave my full-time developer job and pursue Klaily full-time. It wasn’t an easy choice, but I was driven by a deep passion for creating and a desire to show my daughter the value of independence and staying true to what you love. My goal was not just to build a business but to create something meaningful—something that could inspire others and bring joy to their lives.
Klaily is not just a brand; it’s a reflection of my journey—of resilience, creativity, and finding light in dark times. What started as a personal healing journey has now become a mission to share that same joy and beauty with others. Klaily stands for embracing your passions, finding purpose, and believing in your dreams, even when the odds feel stacked against you.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been far from easy. Balancing life as a new mom while navigating a broken relationship was tough enough, but working full-time in a new field just to support Klaily made it even harder. On top of that, I was constantly battling self-doubt, negative thoughts, and the voices of family and friends who thought I should take a more “secure” path, like becoming a doctor or engineer.
There were so many failures, and I questioned myself daily. But each challenge taught me something, and slowly, I started to trust in my passion. Klaily grew from those struggles, and so did I. Looking back, I’m grateful for every tough moment because they’ve shaped this journey and made it all the more meaningful.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about klaily?
Klaily is my heart and soul, a small business specializing in handmade polymer clay earrings that are lightweight, elegant, and infused with a touch of cuteness. Every piece is designed to tell a story—whether it’s the calming earth tones of my boho collection or the intricate, marbled designs of my ear threaders. I’m most proud of these two collections because they’ve become customer favorites and showcase the creativity and attention to detail I pour into every piece.
What sets Klaily apart is the personal connection I bring to each design. As a self-taught artist, I’ve worked hard to learn many skills, from color mixing and sculpting to mastering 3D printing to create unique molds for my earrings. That 3D printing journey has been one of my proudest accomplishments because it allows me to bring truly one-of-a-kind designs to life.
Klaily is more than just jewelry—it’s about embracing individuality and creativity. I want readers to know that when they wear Klaily earrings, they’re not just wearing accessories; they’re wearing art that’s made with care, intention, and love.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My parents have been my greatest support system. My dad, in particular, has been the engineer behind my local market displays, customizing and transforming them to be portable and fit perfectly into my small sedan so I can easily take my shop to markets and events across Florida. His designs not only make my products stand out but also add a luxurious touch to my shop. From taking care of my daughter to helping with house chores, stamping logos, sealing earrings, and assembling them, my parents have been involved in every aspect of Klaily’s journey, and I couldn’t have done it without them.
