Inspiring Conversations with Christy Pudyk of Pack Your Pixie Dust, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christy Pudyk.

Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
One day I was on a walk with my husband and played what we would do if we won the lottery game. We didn’t win, but I said I would be a travel agent during that game. I couldn’t get the thought of becoming a travel agent. That was 11 years ago, and I have never looked back. Since then, I have launched a small blog, am growing my social media channel, have a podcast, and have successfully turned the joy of travel into a small business.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not always been smooth! It can be a lot. There is so much to learn about each company’s policies and requirements for being an affiliate. And, of course, I was a travel agent during the pandemic. That was & continues to be a wild time.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about Pack Your Pixie Dust, LLC?
My LLC houses my travel and content creation business. I love to travel! My passion for travel and desire to learn as much as possible about the topic translates into more knowledge for my clients. I offer great expertise and a detail-oriented experience tailored to my clients’ families for their bookings. I am also in a unique position as a travel professional with celiac disease (medically gluten-free). As a gluten-free travel content creator and a mom, I am uniquely positioned to help others learn to navigate travel with children or food allergies. This gives me a greater understanding to help people navigate gluten-free, among other allergies, as it relates to growing my brand. I appreciate that I am slowly creating a little name for myself.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Along the journey, there were support systems that helped me along the way. My husband and, even now, my son are my biggest cheerleaders. They are always cheering me along or helping me get dinner on the table so I can record another podcast or get out one more travel quote. In addition to my family, the travel agent community is a beneficial field. There’s such a large group willing to mentor one another and help teach them little nuisances of the field.
