Inspiring Conversations with Constance Razzano of The Centre For Health and Wellbeing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Constance Razzano.

Hi Constance, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I have been practicing as a clinician for 21+ years throughout the United States. My expertise as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor is in severe and persistent mental illness, personality disorders, forensics, neuro, inpatient/outpatient, community mental health, and addictions. I spent 9 years in college as well as graduate programs with several degrees all in the psychology realm. My clinical training has been in prisons, psychiatric wards/facilities, hospitals, community mental health centers/non-profits, rehab facilities, the sheriff’s departments, and the fire marshal’s bureau as well as day treatment programs. Currently, I own and operate a private practice.

After working as a clinician, I became an administrator, holding positions as a clinical director at multiple facilities. I truly enjoyed both roles and felt it was time to open a practice and serve more people with my expertise as well as teach interns more rigorous techniques, including empirically validated research, ethics, and laws while supervising caseloads.

I am currently licensed in the State of Florida, am nationally board certified, and a qualified supervisor for the State of Florida for supervision of interns achieving licensure in this state.

My private practice, The Centre for Health and Wellbeing is solely a telehealth/virtual practice. I treat patients throughout the state of Florida as well as supervise interns from varying counties in this state.

Our comprehensive Telehealth psychotherapy FL services include individual counseling for children, adolescents, and adults related to anxiety • depression • eating disorders • women’s psychological issues including post-natal depression • addictions • anger management • phobias • grief • life transitions • family issues • career counseling • personality disorders • severe and persistent mental health issues • ADHD • OCD • childhood disorders • trauma. I help individuals develop insight and acquire tools that will enable them to lead more fulfilled and balanced lives.

Our mental health counselors are well-trained in effective techniques and provide high-quality, professional, and compassionate care. We help clients make authentic, meaningful, and mindful choices about how to live. We believe psychotherapy can provide fertile ground to nurture growth. All therapists are mental health counselors licensed by the Florida Board.

We provide a highly personalized psychotherapy approach tailored to your individual needs through Telehealth for ages 5 and older. We treat with compassion, empathy, and understanding. Our therapy is used to get to the root of the issue, treat, and have you back into the community functioning at your greatest potential.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
After so many years of practicing and having a solid foundation within the practice of psychology as well as administration expertise, it was fairly simple to have an end result of private practice. One of the most lacking components I have found for clinical professionals starts with graduate studies. I feel that graduate students at the master’s and doctoral levels have had no formal training or education on how to deal with insurance companies, how to get credentialed, billing, and get accreditation. Setting up a private practice and managing one is very challenging as far as I have seen none of the programs I have been through and supervised have yet to include this into their coursework.

I had some frustration in opening my practice in regard to how to start! I did have a CPA assist me every step of the way as well as colleagues in other states that gave me sound advice on steps to take to open my doors in the most efficient way. Networking throughout my career was a real asset and I always recommend this to colleagues, employees, and students.

This facility allows people to seek a highly qualified professional from the comfort of their home, or office, during a lunch break, or before work. We accept patients for who they are and appreciate each person for their unique character. What sets us apart from others is that our expertise is unique and sought out. I have been sought out for specific cases that others were not able to treat, specifically pyromania, severe and persistent mental illness, and personality disorders.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I love collaborating within this beautiful community. A simple phone call or email to schedule a time to talk is all it takes! I do lectures, have worked in conferences, write articles and blogs, give supervision to colleagues as well as students, and always enjoy helping students with interviews for class projects when time permits.
