Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Wysocky.
Hi Danielle, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Danielle and I previously worked in advertising and marketing. I always knew I wanted to start my own business but not until recently did I realize that I wanted to create a brand out of…well…myself! I always felt my purpose was to do meaningful work that made people feel seen, and accepted and just made them smile – whatever industry that was. I started my blog, High Pony Style.
As a way to express me through fashion and real conversation and hopefully reach an audience that liked what they heard. I am definitely just starting out but I absolutely love it. Quite frankly, I’m a ham! I love being in front of a camera. I come alive. And I feel an authentic way. It’s almost like who I really come through the camera. I just like talking to people regardless of the audience size. Although I do hope to reach more people. Spread the love so to speak.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. High Pony Style was born out of my actual CHILD being born. I had a baby girl in May of 2020, the height of Covid. I knew I couldn’t mentally go back to work or put my child in daycare. So High Pony Style emerged!
I was definitely in a groove but my personal life took a little bit of a hit and threw a wrench in my flow. If I’m being honest it was hard to pull myself out of and still struggle with that sometimes. But anything worth having is not easy, right?
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My dream is for High Pony Style to be a place where people from all walks of life can come and feel like they are accepted, seen, understood, and just all-around entertained. I feel like I am known for, at this time, my outfits that maybe some people think are out of the box but exciting and refreshing! I also hope people know that when they see me on stories, they are going to maybe giggle and feel like they are watching a real person and not someone that they feel they could never relate to.
That would be the worst! Sure I love clothes, I love designer things, I love skincare but I am also someone who struggles with anxiety, acne, and motherhood, so much! Right now, I am just so proud that I made High Pony Style a reality. Although small, she is mighty and there is so much I want to do with this space. When I think about it, I get really excited! I hope to have people along the journey with me.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
On a personal level, I would not be here right now without my unbelievable husband who sees the best of me even in my darkest moments. He knows what I am capable of and truly makes me feel like I can do anything. I also would not even have the most beautiful branding without my friend and former colleague, Rachel Clements. She is an incredibly talented designer who understood me and what I wanted to do and brought it to life. But my why, the reason I do all of this is my daughter Vale.
I think of who I want my daughter to look up to as both a mother but also as someone on social media. Creating a brand that one day she could be a part of, if she chose, would be an absolute dream come true. She is the pulse behind High Pony Style and I just want to make he proud. So being authentically me is the only way to do that, one would hope!
