Today we’d like to introduce you to Dina Soliman.
Hi Dina, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am a physical therapist for over 20 years finished my Bachelor and Masters back home in Egypt, graduated from Cairo university school of physical therapy,
Started as Orthopedic Physical therapist and worked in the general practice for over 10 years,
With some interruptions on and off when I got my twins 2003, I found that my responsibility as a mom can’t be fulfilled 100% if I am scattered between the kid , home and work.
So I decided to stay home with the kids, and I wasn’t sure when will be the right time to be back to my career, till we immigrated to Canada, and I found myself ready to start the accreditation for my degree and it happened, and I passed, and got an outpatient position then I was offered another position as pelvic floor physical therapist, but I don’t have this experience., and I never got any training in this branch,
The owner of the clinic that offered me this position told me, let me connect you with a physical therapist who will help you with the courses and what and where to get them.
Here was the change, and an eye opening, from the 1st. Course I got I was fascinated with how this field is very helpful and discovered that After my kids I was suffering of many of those conditions and I didn’t think about it.
For example I had Sacroiliac joint pain that increases with any simple activity like house cleaning, traveling, extra walking. With my 1st. Course I understood how to address my problems and by applying it to the patients the change is hug and the patients get better in a very short period. From there I kept taking many courses.
Then after few years I decided to do the board exam NPTE for the state of Florida.
Believe me I don’t know why did I done it.
And here is the surprise in 2018 I passed the NPTE and 2019 we got the Green card approval that my sister in low applied for my husband since 2004, what a Devine plan. God was preparing everything for us for this move from Canada to the US.
Having the 10 years experience in Pelvic floor I started in Advent Health then in our patient clinics, but at a certain point I felt that I need to open my own practice and to start treating patients the way I was dreaming for, not the way that every institution dictate, with my vision and mission, I was able to treat hundreds of women that tried different places and never been to their goals..
I chose Lake Mary to help my community. But over time I started getting calls and patients from the villages, Daytona and Lake Nona, just because they trusted that what they will receive in our clinic Advanced Pelvic is beyond the physical treatment as they have read from other’ patients that left their reviews.and got more patients that in Advanced Pelvic testing the pelvic symptoms is not our goal, o our true goal is to get every patient’ who seek our help to understand the true reason and the key point that not only improved their symptoms but got them to goals they were dreaming of and never been able to achieve it because of laking the guidance and the medical support.
As soon as they trusted our advises and saw the progress they feel more and more motivated.
I am very happy that in short period of time we gained that trust in our community and all over central Orlando.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely there are struggles,
1- choosing to be out of network
2- Marketing and opening unusual channels not the regular channels as Doctors referrals
3- educating the people by reaching them in their gyms and work place so they can advocate for themselves and seek new approaches other that regular meds and surgeries.
4- to get people around me as my own family to understand and trust in my way of doing and managing my work over the traditional channels.
As you know, we’re big fans of Advanced Pelvic Solutions. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Our clinic is specialized in treating Pelvic floor conditions by using manual approaches and advanced level of exercises to treat unique medical conditions as:
Pelvic pain during sex.
Urinary incontinence without any medicine.
Pelvic prolapse and prevent surgeries
Abdominal gaping ( Rectus Diastisis)
Any many more problems that many patients think that it is only could be treated by surgeries or even doesn’t have a solution.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I have a mentor for sure, and I have a Mastermind program that got me to understand business and guiding me step by step.
Through this Mastermind mind I learned how to do my marketing, do good networking , what works and what doesn’t work.
