Inspiring Conversations with Esther Ramirez of Captured with Grace Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Esther Ramirez

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Welcome to my story!

My journey began as a young girl in the streets of Madrid, Spain.

I remember being young and passionate. But little did I know where to put my passion. Not only a passion but a dream. A dream that the little Spanish girl always had. and it was to capture the world so others could see. Always with a camera in my hand, I had a passion for capturing every single detail I could get my hands on. Every click of the shutter has been a journey of discovery and expression for me. Whether it was framing candid moments with family or friends to exploring new landscapes.

As I grew up, photography was more than just a hobby, it was my deepest passion, a means of capturing moments that spoke volumes without words. In 2013, my world turned upside down when I moved to the United States at the age of 12. As an immigrant child, adapting meant learning a new language, setting new goals, and striving to excel. Photography, once a beloved passion, became a distant dream as I poured my energy into acclimating to school and new responsibilities.

However, in 2016, everything changed when I joined the yearbook staff at my high school. Memories of capturing special moments flooded back, reigniting my love for photography. By 2017, fueled by determination, I saved diligently until I could finally afford my first-ever camera. A milestone I’ll forever cherish. I vividly recall the thrill of meticulously counting each dollar at Target to purchase my Canon. From that moment on, my camera became inseparable from me, a constant companion on every journey. As every passion blooms, so too do troubles and insecurities. I found myself full of doubt and uncertainty, allowing them to overshadow my love for photography once more. As responsibilities piled on and practicalities took precedence, my dream of pursuing photography professionally began to fade. Balancing academics, career expectations, and financial stability became my new focus, leaving little room for the creative pursuit that once ignited my soul.

Yet, through perseverance, I realized that every setback is an opportunity for growth. I’ve learned to embrace challenges as part of the journey.

Late 2021 I finally decided to commit and never look back. I joined my church’s photography ministry and served every week. I am so thankful for the opportunity I was given, I consider that to be my field of learning. At my church, I found myself immersed in capturing some of life’s most profound moments. Whether it was the laughter of a child, the most intimate moments, or the exhilarating performances of renowned artists. Little did I know, these experiences would become stepping stones to unforeseen opportunities.

With a leap of faith in 2023, I officially launched Captured with Grace Photography.
This venture represents not just a business endeavor, but a culmination of passion, dedication, and a deep-seated belief in the power of capturing moments with Grace and authenticity. Suddenly, God began opening doors and I began receiving personal job requests ranging from birthday celebrations to intimate portraits, quinceañeras to weddings. I give all glory to God for never giving up on me and continuously opening doors to share my gift with others. Every click of the shutter now echoes with gratitude and grace for the journey that brought me here.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not all things worth pursuing can be easy. But it’s through heat and pressure that diamonds can be made. I would love to tell you everything was a smooth ride through my journey. But let’s just say the camera doesn’t always focus when we’d like it to. In all seriousness, we can’t let rough times determine our days. I had to trust in the gift that God gave me, to believe that my gift in photography would be sufficient to move forward. But somehow, every time a new opportunity came for me to shine, each time I was able to put a smile on the other side of my camera. Brightening other people’s day always brightened mine a little more. And I knew that I couldn’t give up. The little girl from Madrid knew she had more in store. With faith and a gift… surely things will turn out for the better. Hope always makes it happen!!
