Today we’d like to introduce you to Gregory Jones.
Hi Gregory, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started with photography at 16, I always joke I stole my mom’s camera and never gave it back. I would carry “my” camera everywhere and take pictures of everything.
From there every career i wanted involved me holding a camera. It was in college I fell inlove with shooting portraits and editorial style with human subjects.
I sort of fell into my current roll though taking stylistic photos of people in costumes attempting to elevate their outfits with sets and locations that fit the characters.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The first hurdle came with my move to Florida. Inhad a small network that I could work with in the Midwest but I wouldn’t have developed the same skill as I did in Florida and the connection I built here are second to none.
But the biggest hurdle is managing teaching and being a father with my passion. I have a 5 year old son and 2 year old daughter that come first above everything else in my life.
As you know, we’re big fans of Fans in Frame LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My company is a photography studio and photo coordinator for events such as conventions, and raves.
We blend creative styles with professional event photography.
More recently we started hosting drawing workshops hiring the models that work with the studio to pose for artists to draw and paint them.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I think respect is thing I strive to show most and the thing that brings people coming back to me. Respecting clients time, models boundaries and making everyone I work with feels heard.
