Inspiring Conversations with Jeanette Underwood of To Infinity and Beyond ABA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeanette Underwood.

Hi Jeanette, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My ABA journey began, roughly 11 years ago when my oldest son was diagnosed with autism at age two. From that moment, I committed myself to learning everything I could; learning every strategy, principle, and tool that would help support his growth and the bright future he deserved. Once he began ABA therapy, something clicked. I became completely immersed in the process, motivated by each bit of progress and driven to learn everything I could. ABA laid the foundation for growth, giving us the tools we needed to learn. Those milestones truly inspired me to return to school, where I earned my master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis with a minor in Autism Spectrum Disorder. What began as a mission to support my son soon grew into a passion for helping other families navigate their own journeys.

After working within a larger ABA organization for several years, I gained valuable experience and had the opportunity to learn from a wide range of clients, clinicians, and leadership styles. That time helped me grow as both a practitioner and a leader. It also helped me see the kind of environment I wanted to create. One that felt individualized, warm, and aligned with beliefs about embracing neurodiversity. I wanted a place where kids could be themselves, quirky, creative, wonderfully unique, and where therapy wasn’t about changing who they are, but helping them thrive. That’s when I decided to branch out and build something new. That vision eventually became To Infinity and Beyond ABA, a space rooted in authenticity, empowerment, and an understanding that every child’s journey is beautifully different.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
This field is incredibly rewarding, and getting to spend my days with the team and guiding the clients in growth makes every challenge worth it. The hardest parts have never been the kids or the families; it’s the insurance requirements, constant policy changes, and administrative hurdles that make the work more complex than it needs to be.
Still, every obstacle has taught me something—patience, humility, resilience, and how to keep pushing forward even when it’s tough. Waiting for doors to open, when some close. Each challenge has shaped me, not just as a provider and business owner, but as a person. I’m still learning every day, and I’m grateful for the growth this journey continues to bring.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about To Infinity and Beyond ABA?
To Infinity and Beyond ABA was built on the belief that every child deserves a place where their individuality is celebrated and their voice truly matters. We offer ABA therapy, social skills training, parent support, and school collaboration, but what really defines us is how we see each child as a whole person, not a list of goals.

Our environment is intentionally warm, joyful, and inclusive. We focus on regulation, functional communication, and real-life skills that help kids thrive. Families often tell us they feel the difference the moment they walk in because we embrace neurodiversity and welcome every child exactly as they are.

Additionally, our in-clinic homeschool collective gives children a place to learn and grow with individualized support, while also offering families financial stability during a time when many are trying to keep everything afloat. It blends education and therapeutic care in a way that truly supports the whole child.

Our work goes far beyond therapy sessions. We walk beside families, collaborate with schools, and show up in the hard moments and the joyful ones. At the heart of our brand is compassion, authenticity, and a deep belief that children flourish when they feel understood, supported, and genuinely celebrated.
