Hi Jessica, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was working in banking and management when the 2008 financial crises occurred. I was laid off in December just before Christmas with a new born just returning from maternity leave. This snowballed a year later into the loss of the house I purchased at 26 as a single mother, the loss of my car, my grandmother’s passing, demise of my relationship and bankruptcy. I was then laid off three more times within the next few years. It was the uncertainty of employment even with exceptional performance that lead me to entrepreneurship.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As I mentioned the financial collapse in 2008 created an environment of scarcity and uncertainty for not just my family but many others. With no family support and as a single mother of a 10 year old and infant, I had to navigate my own way of thriving. With entrepreneurship, I would never be laid off again, unless of course my clients felt I was not doing my job. My income would match my efforts and no big business would be able to affect my households income. I would also not be capped on salary. Performance would convert to abundance with the ability to lead a team and scale. Being a leader to my own team was always the goal. To get back to helping other women grow and achieve their own goals. Unfortunately, I had no way of foreseeing the pandemic as a potential setback. I was able to make it through but not without a lot of hard work, prayer, faith in my own ability and the support of my best friends.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up I was always so interested in people. That is still true today. I really love talking with my clients. We share stories, advice and laughs. People are so interesting and I learn something new everyday. I have always been a daydreamer. Trust me when I say, soL deL souL was curated from my own souL. As it evolves, I see where I turned a daydream into a life and career. The word SOUL in soL deL souL in there for a reason, its translation means “sun of the souL” because we all shine a little brighter when our outside reflects who we feel like inside. I have always been able to connect with others easily. I think that’s just the intuitive side of me that came from observing so much when I was little. I am an avid reader of business, personal growth, spirituality and philosophy. I am forever curious about the world. I often feel there is not enough time to learn everything I want to learn. There’s not enough time to meet all of the interesting people that exist in the world or to experience all life has to offer. Being a present. loving mom is important to me. I hope that my courage and grit inspire my own children to daydream about a life well lived and then go and live it out loud! I wish to inspire other women to follow their soul, and to live their own dreams unapologetically! In 2025 I will be launching a community for anyone interested in getting into the sunless industry so that they can skip everything I had to learn by trial and error, and hard work. If I can inspire and change even one souL, I will have achieved a life well lived.
