Inspiring Conversations with Julio Paredes of Leti Arepa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julio Paredes.

Hi Julio, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
We started this business in 2019, as an investment that would be our family sustenance, the United States opened the doors for us and allowed us to start again, as it has done with many immigrants, for us it is a pride to be able to represent the Venezuela gastronomy, through our daily work. At the beginning, it was very hard, because my wife was a journalist and I was a businessman, we knew very little about cooking, fortunately we have the support of many people who have supported us and who today continue as part of our business in Letiarepa. The quality of our products has been the basis of growth, we add new dishes to the menu and we strive to make our customers feel happy, that is the way to get where we are today.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been difficult once you have to learn a new language, laws, procedures, culture, all at the same time. However, the desire to improve and love for family is something exactly the same in any country in the world, and it is what moves us forward. Every day is a challenge, we keep jumping obstacles, but we have our clear goals, we came here to give our best and we do it every day.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Letiarepa is a small Venezuelan food business made up of an immigrant family, we have three children, and we operate in a truck with 40 other businesses since 2019 at World Food Trucks 5811 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy Kissimmee, Fl 34746. Our specialty is arepas, we have a long variety of them, we serve them with beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, salads, fresh cheeses, and many are personalized creations of our clients, which add avocado, plantain or any dressing. We are proud to offer our food fresh, well prepared and healthy, they are dishes that make the palate fall in love, we serve many tourists each year and we are especially pleased when they return from anywhere, just to try our food again.

We have a very extensive menu with more than 30 options such as burgers, BBQ, pepitos, tequeños, empanadas, patacones, cachapas, tropical fruit juices and our traditional chicha, a drink of rice with condensed milk and cinnamon, which is delicious.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
We live between Orlando and Kissimmee, we live in Orange County and the business works in Osceola are developing cities. We studied other places before we settled here, and we concluded that this would be the best option to live and raise our children. The priority has always been family and this city is perfect, quiet, clean, orderly, with a great climate and great business opportunities. There’s really nothing I dislike.
