Inspiring Conversations with Kene Anusionwu of The Law Offices of K.H.A

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kene Anusionwu.

Hi Kene, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in London England and moved to the United States full time in 2005 to attend prep school and play basketball. I Played basketball at a nationally Ranked Junior college in Idaho, then moved to Florida in 2008 on a scholarship at Bethune Cookman University in Daytona Beach.
After graduation I signed a Pro contract to play in the BBL back in England, this is when I realized the how important the need for good agent and legal representation was for athletes. I decided to go to law school with the support of my wife and family.
When my wife graduated from Bethune Cookman in 2011 we all moved to Orlando, and I enrolled in FAMU Law. Once I graduated I passed the bar exam in 2014 and started practicing law serving indigent members of our community through the FAMU legal clinic and the Virgil Hawkins Foundation.
I opened my practice in 2015 and I have been servicing our community in Family law, civil litigation and personal injury. I have grown my practice over the last decade, and I have grown my family to five children who range from daycare age to college age.
Since becoming a lawyer I have had the opportunity to teach as an adjunct at FAMU Law, Bethune Cookman and UCF teaching all areas of law.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I have had to deal with changes in the economy, covid which changed completely the way we practice law, and other obstacles in my practice and adapting to changes in technology such as AI

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We have a boutique size firm of about five people, we practice all areas of family law and personal injury. We also litigate most civil matters

We have a unique style of practice in which we are accessible to our clients, and take our clients specific needs into consideration, Unlike most firms the Attorney does a lot of communication with the client and the Attorney prepares with the clients personally for hearings or trial.

We stand by our slogan of being knowledgeable in the law, hardworking in our repression and accessible with our client communication, which stand for the K.H.A in the firm name.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I grew up playing cricket and soccer, and in high school I was the borough champion in high jump.
