Today we’d like to introduce you to Krista Denoff.
Hi Krista, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my business in a way that was shaped by my own lived experiences long before KD Consulting ever existed. I grew up in circumstances that included homelessness, domestic violence, adoption, and the challenges of being raised alongside siblings with Autism, ADHD, and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome at a time when there were almost no services or supports available. Watching my family try to navigate those realities without help taught me how much families and caregivers carry on their shoulders when systems fail them.
As I got older and entered the ABA and pediatric therapy world, I saw a similar kind of struggle in the businesses behind the care. Many providers, especially women, were passionate about serving their communities but were overwhelmed by the administrative and operational demands that no one ever prepared them for. I recognized that same sense of survival, that constant feeling of trying to hold everything together, without a roadmap or support system.
KD Consulting started as me simply helping one provider who felt lost and defeated. Then another. Then another. Over time, I realized there was a real need for someone who could simplify these systems, bring clarity to the chaos, and create stability for practices that were doing incredibly important work but didn’t have the tools to sustain themselves.
The heart of my business comes from a very genuine place. I know what it feels like to grow up without support. I know what it looks like when families fall through the cracks. And I see how many therapy practices, especially women-owned and women-led ones, are trying to make a meaningful impact while juggling everything alone. My goal has always been to take that weight off their shoulders and help them build foundations that let them focus on their passion and their purpose.
Today, KD Consulting supports ABA, OT, PT, SLP, and multi-disciplinary practices across the country. But at its core, the mission is simple. Help providers build strong, sustainable businesses that improve outcomes for families and create stability for the women who lead them. Everything I have lived through is connected to why I do this work. And every step of my journey has guided me toward creating the kind of support system I wish my own family once had.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Has it been a smooth road? Yes and no. LOL. The need for what I do was obvious from the very beginning. Providers were overwhelmed, systems were a mess, and everyone was begging for clarity. But at the same time, there was already a stigma surrounding credentialing and billing companies. Many owners had been burned before, so earning trust sometimes felt like trying to convince someone that the stove really is cool now, even if it burned them last time.
Another challenge was adjusting to how many people expected extra work for free or didn’t think twice about skipping invoices. I came in with a trusting heart, assuming everyone would match the same honesty and follow-through I brought to the table. That was a quick lesson in boundaries, professionalism, and learning that kindness and firmness can coexist.
But the good has far outweighed the hard parts. I’ve had the privilege of watching small practices find their footing and grow into thriving organizations. I’ve watched completely overwhelmed owners suddenly breathe again after realizing they don’t have to do everything alone. I’ve seen providers expand services, hire new staff, and open new locations. And the best part has always been watching the families they serve finally get the support and stability they’ve been waiting for.
There is nothing better than seeing a group transform from barely holding it together to confidently leading their community. Those moments remind me why this work matters and why every challenge has been worth it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
KD Consulting is a business consulting firm that specializes in supporting ABA, OT, PT, SLP, and multi-disciplinary therapy practices. What we do goes far beyond paperwork. We help therapy providers build strong, stable, and sustainable foundations so they can focus on serving children and families without drowning in the operational side of running a business.
We are known for creating systems that actually make sense. Real processes. Real organization. Real clarity. Many providers come to us feeling overwhelmed, behind, or unsure where to start. They may have gaps in credentialing, authorizations, billing, HR, or overall operations. Our job is to walk in, assess everything, and help them rebuild their business structure from the inside out.
What sets us apart is the heart behind our work. We don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. Every practice is different, and every owner has a story. We work closely with women-owned and women-led companies because we understand the weight they carry and the lack of support they often receive. We approach business with compassion, transparency, and a genuine desire to help owners create stability and sustainability, not just quick fixes.
We are also known for being the team that solves problems others run from. We specialize in cleaning up complicated billing issues, fixing credentialing mistakes, repairing operational breakdowns, and helping practices get back on their feet when things feel chaotic. Many clients come to us after years of frustration, and one of my proudest accomplishments is watching them finally feel confident and supported.
Brand wise, I am most proud of the trust we’ve built. Our clients know we show up. We communicate. We care. We don’t disappear when things get complicated. We stay with them through the challenges and celebrate with them during the growth. Our brand is rooted in integrity, consistency, compassion, and building businesses that actually work in real life, not just on paper.
What I want readers to know is that KD Consulting is more than a service provider. We are partners in building strong therapy practices that create real impact. We help with credentialing, billing, authorizations, operations, HR, social media strategy, and full business development. But at the heart of it all, our mission is simple. We help purpose-driven providers create stability, sustainability, and success without losing themselves or the passion that made them start in the first place.
If a therapy business is ready to grow, stabilize, restructure, or get back on track, we are the team that can help them do it with clarity, compassion, and real strategy.
What are your plans for the future?
When I think about the future of KD Consulting, I think about expansion in a way that supports both the businesses we serve and the women leading them. We are stepping into a new season built around community, education, and sustainable growth, not just for practices but for the people at the center of them.
One of the biggest things I am looking forward to is the development of The Core Collective. This will be an extension of KD Consulting and a space designed to bring therapy business owners together. It will offer support, leadership development, business strategy, accountability, and a genuine sense of community. Too many owners feel isolated in their roles, and The Core Collective is being built to change that.
I am also excited about the continued growth of The CEO Vision Reset. Our next full reset will be held on December 15, 2025, and it is becoming a powerful experience for leaders who need clarity, systems, and a grounded plan for running their business with intention. Watching owners reconnect with their purpose, gain confidence, and step into a more aligned version of leadership has been one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
Another project I am passionate about is Blueprint26. It is a comprehensive framework I am developing to help business owners build and scale their organizations with structure, strategy, and long-term stability. Blueprint26 will guide them through the systems they need, the decisions they must make, and the vision they want to bring to life over the next year and beyond.
All of these expansions share the same goal. I want to help therapy providers and women in leadership build businesses that support their lives instead of consuming them. My plans for the future are rooted in quality, community, and helping owners feel equipped, confident, and supported as they grow. There are some big changes coming, but they are all centered around strengthening the people who are out there strengthening others.
