Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz Krus.
Hi Liz, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I owned a couple of small businesses in my early twenties and then attended Florida State until 2003. After meeting my husband, we spent 10 years in St. Louis, MO and during that time I earned my MBA in Entrepreneurship from Saint Louis University.
I spent 20 years in different types of corporate sales roles in healthcare and technology. In 2022, I began looking for an opportunity to own my own business. Brightway Insurance was a great fit for me, as I was looking for a business where my work would be on a local level. I have enjoyed being involved in the Chamber of Commerce and other local business groups since opening last year.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I don’t have to tell anyone, it was a tough year in Florida with two hurricanes. Opening a brand new insurance agency in the middle of that was definitely a learning experience!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am so proud to offer so many different types of insurance and options.
There really isn’t an insurance policy I cannot help someone find whether it is Personal or Commercial. From homeowners and auto to commercial liability and workers comp, it’s great to always say “Yes – I can help you with that!” I love that I can offer such a wide variety of products.
What matters most to you? Why?
I really enjoy getting to learn more about my neighbors who become my clients.
It was what compelled me to want to have this type of business. Helping my customers understand insurance just a little bit better always makes me smile – it can be such a mystery!
