Hi Mary, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Coming from humble beginnings in NYC, my husband I, fantasized of driving the cars only a kid could dream of. When we met in 2008 we were both inclined by each other’s passion for cars. Embracing our car enthusiasts mindsets, we grew to become vehicle extraordinaires by starting HOWMOTORS. Our inspiration came after hearing a “welcome message” from Mayor Buddy Dyer at the airport, where he mentioned that Orlando receives over 72M visitors a year! we were astonished, and it was that defining moment where we realized we needed to serve those travelers with something unique and amazing.
HOWMOTORS was launched in early 2019. We knew our target customer and built our business around that demand, which lead us to have one of the finest car fleets in Orlando, featuring the latest models from Mercedes Benz, Lamborghini, BMW, and Tesla among other prestigious brands. Our strength was fueled by the pride in sharing with others our passion for luxury and exotic cars while keeping the end goal in mind at all times to provide each guest with a unique experience.
I chose to lead HOWMOTORS and loudly establish our company as a woman owned and operated business. It has been a beautiful journey for me; particularly establishing myself as a respected leader in this male dominated industry. The earned admiration from my peers has led me to serve as a speaker and mentor for entrepreneurs in the car rental industry. My aim is to continue to serve Central Florida with safe and desirable vehicles, as a woman disrupting mobility while sharing my expertise with other aspiring entrepreneurs.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Shortly after our first year we were hit with the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. As the world struggled, certain industries were impacted more than others. HOWMOTORS relied on travel and tourism, and when this came to a halt in April 2020 it affected us greatly. Nothing could had prepared us for what we faced in 2020, dozens of canceled reservations on a daily basis. We went from sold-out for consecutive months to maybe one or two sprinkled reservations in a 90-day period. Leading a team through difficult times like these was very challenging, we made a lot of sacrifices to ensure our team members were taken care of, and at ease knowing their jobs were secure. Nonetheless, the pandemic challenged us in many ways, and we are better for it now. This period, which we are still experiencing led us to improve, and innovate as a company. We are proud to say that not only did we grow our fleet, most importantly we strengthened our bond as a team, and that is our greatest reward.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I once saw a fancy lady driving a vintage convertible Mercedes Benz, I gazed at her while she waited on a red light. I envisioned her life as fabulous and filled with great accomplishments. I wanted to be like one day.
