Melissa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Making a decision to live instead of survive life’s traumas and hurdles was the eye opener I needed within to realize the worth and vision put inside of me. Being an advocate for education, mental health, and youth I began sowing seeds in my community through my non-profit organization. The experiences of overcoming is not just a cliche’ it is the strength I pull from to set an example for my children and the youth in the community supported through my companies.
My passion to support started in education and birth my non-profit that in 8 years have created paid internships and technology opportunities for generations. Understanding the intrinsic motivation our students lack is what helped me to focus on the opening of Colossus Private School. I wanted to create a campus that middle and high school students could feel supported and motivated to learn while reaching their fullest potential. I use my platform as a signed exclusive talent with BMG Orlando to show that your character will tell the story of your heart and purpose to bring you in to opportunities you never envisioned.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. Knowing personally what it is to survive childhood trauma and domestic violence, while raising children as a single mother it has not always been easy. But knowing the goal and the vision placed by my creator and sustained by my faith is what helped me persevere through homelessness, emergency surgeries, anti-depressants, and more. Today knowing this private school is making a difference in so many families I humbled. Understanding the summer internships create not only income but uplift students and families like mine help to understand your purpose is bigger than the hurt and hurdles. Your story is a testimony and a foundation for excellence. The smooth road is never as smooth as you would like it. The bumps along the way build the character you need to sustain your future.

Surveying Public School Students And Families In Various Counties Across Florida, The Majority Of Students Entering High School Are Struggling Due To Their Limited Exposure And Understanding Of Technology Being Used On An Educational Platform. As A Result, Making Setting The Goal Of Post-Secondary Education, And Setting The Goal For A Technology Based Career Cumbersome And Uninviting.
Colossus Private School Will Support Those Students That Have Limited To No Computer Knowledge, While Also Differentiating Curriculum To Support The Tech Eager Student That Needs The Education And Foundation To Pursue A Career In Technology, Science, Engineering Or Math. We also include free family counseling for our students to support their social and emotional growth.
