Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Rahimi.
Hi Morgan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always found people fascinating to work with. Out of college, I worked in sales for a couple of years and decided I wanted to help the families I was working with in a different way. So I went back to school for my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy.
After working in non-profit work during my school program, I fell in love with the freedom of helping people in my own private practice. During that time, I was also starting my family and realized how difficult becoming a mother was. I looked for help, but there were very few therapists that specialized in perinatal/maternal issues. Thus, I decided to educate myself in the reproductive time frame and become an expert in perinatal and trauma issues. I soon realized in order to assist the overwhelming need in society, I needed to grow a team of therapists skilled to facilitate healing for all that birthing people face.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Covid escalated the need for mental health care exponentially. At CLIMB, we converted virtually as everyone else did and we all increased our caseload to assist people with handling Covid and all that it entailed. That process took some time and energy. We are thrilled that virtual therapy has been so successful because it lets us help a larger group of people who would otherwise not be able to attend counseling.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Our goal at CLIMB is to assist all people going through the stage of their lives that includes babies in a timely manner to reach their goals. We treat clients as we would want our families to be treated and thus we offer assistance from coaching to empirically validated counseling treatments that help clients on a higher level and can lead to transformational change. At CLIMB we offer approaches in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), emotion focused therapy (EFT), brainspotting, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and much more. We offer services for individuals, couples, families, and children/teens and can assist with issues from anxiety and transitioning to trauma and addictions.
I wish more people knew that reaching out for therapy is one of the strongest things you can do to help your own mental health. It is not a sign of weakness, but rather great strength. We are here to help, not waste time or resources. We want clients to not only reach their goals, but in as timely a way as possible.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I would love to extend my deepest gratitude towards my family and friends for helping me along this journey. Between graduate level classes, interning hours, and starting my own practice, none of it would have been possible without the support system that surrounds me daily. These individuals have provided me with a shoulder to lean on through some of the tougher seasons. My husband and two children have so graciously granted me the time (and patience) to do what I am passionate about in life.
All the women that work alongside me at CLIMB Wellness & Counseling deserve credit as well. Our practice is comprised of some very intelligent and compassionate woman, who invest a tremendous amount every day into our clients and the field of mental health. We all work together, and many hands make light work.
