Inspiring Conversations with Mystrame Paul of MoodFoodbyMystrame

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mystrame Paul.

Hi Mystrame, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My private chef business was born quite unexpectedly—at a dinner party I hadn’t even planned to attend. The scheduled chef canceled last-minute, and I stepped in, almost by fate. That evening became the turning point, a culmination of something I had been quietly nurturing for years: a deep love for cooking and the way it brings people together. Twelve years ago, I realized that creating food wasn’t just about flavor—it was about emotion, connection, and the power to transform a mood. That night simply gave my passion the stage it had been waiting for.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As Maya Angelou said, “Life’s been no crystal stair.” The path to building my business has been anything but smooth. Originally from Miami, I had to start fresh in Orlando—learning to cultivate new relationships in a city where I knew few, all while being naturally shy. It’s a delicate dance, learning how to build meaningful connections while also serving those very same people with grace and professionalism.

There were days when the phone didn’t ring, when “busy” felt like a whisper instead of a rush, and I was still working a 9-to-5 to make ends meet. It’s only by the grace of God—and a lot of therapy—that I’ve learned the tools to navigate both relationships and the inevitable ebbs and flows of entrepreneurship. Every challenge refined me, and every setback reminded me why I started.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
MoodFood is, in essence, my love letter to the world. At its heart, the mission is simple: to shift moods, gather families, and create moments of genuine connection through food and fellowship.

We specialize in private chef services for the home, intimate gatherings, and thoughtfully curated lifestyle meals. My cooking style is a soulful fusion of American comfort and Southern-Caribbean flair—flavors meant to nourish both body and spirit.
