Inspiring Conversations with Paola Leonor Cordero of Leonor Interiors

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paola Leonor Cordero.  

Hi Paola, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Many professional designers knew that this is what they wanted to do from a young age due to always having this urge to remodel their bedrooms, home, etc. I, on the other hand, did not have that experience. Interior design came to me as a crazy gut feeling on a random day while working as a visual merchandiser and styling displays. So, I decided to research programs around me and was lucky enough to find out that Seminole State College offered a Bachelor’s degree in the field. Without hesitations or experience in design, I decided to take that leap of faith and leave my visual merchandising career behind. 2 years later, I graduated with a 3.9 GPA and a passion for this field that I would have never thought of possible. Now, my next step is to take my own design company and share my creativity and passion for a functional but aesthetically pleasing concept with those who call a space their home and small business owners like myself. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a new business is always a huge leap of faith and not an easy task. To me, the interior design aspect obviously comes naturally but the behind the scenes of running a business can be very challenging. In the beginning, finding clients can be difficult, and I quickly learned how important it was to network, connect and foster relationships in order to succeed in the design world. 

We’ve been impressed with Leonor Interiors, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Leonor Interiors is an interior design studio based in Orlando, Florida but designing nationwide that specializes in residential and commercial design. Our main goal is to enhance our client’s vision for their space by blending aesthetics and function through the application of extraordinary service, quality, innovation, and creativity. Something we are really proud of doing is including the client in the entire design process from concept to execution. This makes the experience very personal and memorable for everyone involved.
