Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrick Sherman. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Born and raised in New York city Pat Sherman always learned to hustle and work many jobs as a young youth. At the age of 12, Pat worked over 30 hours a week in a German restaurant and continued to work there until he joined the US Navy at the age of 17. After an honorable discharge, Pat had the opportunity to work as a defense contractor during the Gulf War which required aggressive travel Worldwide.
After being on the road for almost a decade pat had a successful real estate business rehabbing homes and small fitness studios which eventually lead to the opening of The National Personal Training Institute. Pat was able to see the deficiency in qualified educated personal trainers nationwide.
Pat oversees the day-to-day operation of our Orlando and Tampa school locations. We are the only 600-hour ACCSC Accredited Personal Training Diploma program offering Next Generation Personal training in the US. NPTI Florida (Orlando/Tampa) is celebrating its 21st year in business. We have graduated students from over 35 countries to date. We pride ourselves on being Veteran owned, operated, and staffed daily.
Pat has been supporting the Veteran community for 30 years specializing in Veterans transitioning into the civilian workforce. We have future growth plans of adding Jacksonville and Miami NPTI school locations.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As a business owner “The only easy day was yesterday” and you are always working 7 days a week. We have had our share of struggles over the 21 years of operation. Staffing and quality loyal team members are the most important factor to our success.
The past few years have been the hardest for NPTI Florida because we are a hand’s LIVE educational facility with a huge international student body. We had no options to teach our Diploma program online. We also require each student to participate in 218 hours of hand’s client personal training in a real gym studio environment.
So when the COVID-19 pandemic hit we had double jeopardy in being a school that sold a product for fitness and gyms worldwide and no options to offer M1 student visa’s to our International prospects. But we restructured our schools and hopefully plan on having a great 2022 year.

We are an ACCSC Accredited Personal Training school offering a 600-hour Diploma program.
We are known for our Live classroom education and mandatory hand’s experience in a real fitness facility while attending the program over 18 weeks. We are known in the Veteran community as being a Military Trusted School of over 21 years. Our program offers career opportunities at graduation nationwide.
We have been supporting large and small fitness centers with their staffing needs for over 2 decades with much success.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I have 2 younger children and my son has had a corporation since the age of 3. I believe you must surround yourself with positive successful individuals. Always stay busy and minimize downtime.
The best advice would be “Outwork everyone every day” I may not be the smartest and wealthiest in the room, but I will never be outworked!

Pat Sherman is one of the most hard working entrepreneurs I have ever met!
