Today we’d like to introduce you to Raymundo Marquez.
Hi Raymundo, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
A quick rundown: I started my entrepreneurial journey at 22 in Real Estate Wholesaling, where I met my first mentor. I began in acquisitions and liked the challenge behind sales. I worked in this industry for about 4 years before I decided it wasn’t for me, and I needed to find something I loved doing. I knew I wanted my own business, so returning to a traditional office job was not an option. For about a year, I invested a lot in my education. I went to endless seminars, paid for mentorships, and built a fantastic network. I started interacting with many business individuals who would tell me how they found their own companies and built them from the ground up. “I want that for me,” I constantly found myself repeating this. I knew that’s what I wanted to do, start my own business, but which one? I ventured into the e-commerce space, where I gained a lot of knowledge about systems and automation. Then I went into Consulting clients on Blockchain and NFT technologies. I enjoyed that and fell in love with educating others! At this time, I was living in Colombia, and my sister had her sweet 15, so I needed to come back to the states to attend. Against my own will, I returned and thought I would return within the month.
God had bigger plans for me. I reconnected with an old friend who had started this Inflatable Soccer Arena Business called Arena Tampa. I asked him how it was doing because it stood out when he first mentioned it. To my surprise, he told me they had stopped running it for about a year because they didn’t have enough time. I eventually worked out a deal to buy the fields from them and start a new company called Arena 5ive. Since then, I have brought my 6 years’ worth of knowledge in all the other industries and decided to use this company as an “experiment” to see if I had what it takes to build from zero. I had yet to learn where to start, but I knew that others had to see this product. I decided to post one video, and it continued to grow in popularity and business direction as well. I see ample opportunity to be a successful rental service business and completely dominate that industry. Today my main focus is to give others the same chance I have put in their markets. Futbol or Soccer is growing in tremendous popularity, and my vision is to help other young business-minded individuals capitalize on this.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. I think one of the hardest parts for any aspiring entrepreneur is that fear of “what others would think/say.” I say that because we are a brand. I feared that I tried several industries and publicly spoke on my social media, so I felt I would get judged about being yet again in a new industry. I overcame that very quickly, with my conviction in our product but more than anything in myself.
Regarding the business itself, it was a whole new learning curve, but it’s been the best! I needed to understand marketing differently and from an entirely new perspective to see the opportunity I do today. As an entrepreneur, putting our emotions aside to see these things can be challenging because we have to put our egos aside and accept that we may not be doing it right. For example, most people approach me asking, “So when are you adding more products” I understand them because those were my initial thoughts. Still, I ask myself a better question: “How can I add my product to another Rental Services Businesses, new or old? And have them all become my clients because I understand marketing inside this industry like no other does.” It’s been a challenge, but my vision is to give all my clients looking to make a business out of our product a huge shortcut. Deciding to give up everything and believe in yourself enough to go on this entrepreneurial journey is a constant challenge.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
What is Arena 5ive? – It’s a unique product that will enable any individual to enter & compete in a growing industry while spending $0 in marketing. We believe there’s an abundance of profitable “Rental Service” businesses out there currently; we seek to help you enter that industry and dominate.
What sets us apart?
– Our product. I have yet to see any other in the market. That’s precisely where the opportunity is, though. Once our clients get brand recognition in their markets because of our unique product, they can expand and include other products/services because they already have a stamped name. Making it easier to get repeat customers and make them lifetime ones as well.
What would I like readers to know?
– Yes, we primarily offer to rent to the Orlando & Tampa area. If you are interested in renting out one of our arenas, we ask that you reach out with dates.
What was you like growing up?
Growing up, I was overall a good kid. Quiet, reserved, and not too social. I wasn’t interested in much other than playing Soccer. If my parents wanted me to do better in school, all they had to tell me was that I would be taken off the competitive soccer team I was a part of, and those grades would quickly straighten up. I do recall always being interested in business, though. I was that kid who was always trying to see what everyone was buying so I could buy them from the flea market and sell them to them for $1-2 more. My high school years were all over the place. In my sophomore year, I moved to Houston, TX, to play with the Houston Dynamo Academy till I graduated. After that, I played in Mexico at a semi-pro level for about 3 years. I loved every minute of it, but I knew I needed to start building something for my future, and at 22 years old, I was accepting that if I hadn’t debuted, I probably was going to. This is when I came back to Florida and started my entrepreneurial journey.
