Today we’d like to introduce you to Taheerah Jones.
Taheerah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Perfect Breeze Travel officially began in 2011, but the seed was planted years before. In 2008, I was planning my own destination wedding. We hired a travel agent who, to put it gently, fell short of what we needed. I remember thinking to myself, “I could have done this better.” I was already planning group trips, family vacations, and getaways for friends—without even realizing I was doing the work of a travel advisor.
My husband kept telling me:
“You’re doing all this for free. You should be getting paid.”
Still, it didn’t click until a friend invited us on a cruise in 2011. That trip changed everything. Standing on the ship, experiencing travel from the perspective of the traveler and the planner, I finally said:
“This can be a reality.”
I started my business that year. The first two years were a struggle sales-wise, but they were the foundation of everything I am today. I learned the industry from the inside out. I immersed myself in destinations, ships, itineraries, and supplier relationships. I traveled and cruised often—not as a tourist, but as a student. Every trip was research. Every interaction was training. Every mistake was a lesson in how to become the kind of trusted advisor I wished I had in 2008.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
By 2017, that hard work paid off. Perfect Breeze Travel became a Platinum Agency. We continued to scale and increase volume… until the pandemic.
Those years tested every part of me as a business owner, as a human being, and as someone who cares deeply about her clients. Cancellations came daily. Refunds took forever. People were scared and frustrated. Some even accused me of stealing their money because suppliers and cruise lines couldn’t process refunds quickly enough. I lost faith in humanity for a moment. I truly thought I might walk away from the business I built.
Then one invitation changed everything. I attended an industry event in Turks & Caicos. I was surrounded by my “travel family”—people who understood the struggle, who lifted me up, and reminded me who I was. I came home with a renewed confidence and a deeper purpose. I wasn’t done. I was just getting ready for the next chapter.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Today, Perfect Breeze Travel is rebuilding stronger than ever. Though we are not currently Platinum, our sales have been climbing consistently, and we are recognized as an “Agency on the Rise”—one that is expanding with purpose, experience, and heart.
We are a small, tight-knit agency with a few team members spread across the East Coast. Each advisor has their own specialty, which allows us to serve travelers with depth and expertise:
Luxury & Ocean Cruising
Caribbean travel
Disney & Universal
Las Vegas & entertainment travel
Custom FIT (build-your-own) international vacations
Our diversity is our strength.
We don’t sell trips—we design experiences.
When clients book with us, they receive:
One-on-one guidance
Dedicated communication from real humans
Frequent updates as trips develop
Transparent expectations
Honest recommendations based on lived travel experience
Support before, during, and even after their vacation
We get to know our clients:
What excites them…
What stresses them…
What memories they want to create…
What they need to feel safe and confident when they travel.
That’s why so many return to us year after year and refer their friends and family. They don’t feel like a number—they feel cared for. And that matters.
Our Future Vision
I believe travel is more than leisure.
It can heal, connect, and uplift communities.
As we continue to grow, I want Perfect Breeze Travel to do more than send people on vacation. I want us to organize charitable and missionary-style initiatives in places like Jamaica, where hands-on work can rebuild schools, support children, and uplift communities we so often visit as tourists. Travel should give back, not just take.
If someone reads this and sees themselves in my story—maybe a person who loves travel, who started from scratch, or who thought about giving up—I hope they know this:
You can build something beautiful out of courage, faith, and a willingness to keep learning.
That’s how Perfect Breeze was born.
That’s how we continue to grow.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The most important characteristic in my success has been my commitment to service. Travel isn’t just a transaction to me, it’s personal. I listen to my clients, learn who they are, understand their fears, their dreams, and the experience they truly want to have. That level of care builds trust and turns first-time clients into lifelong travelers. When people feel seen, heard, and valued, they come back not because you sold them a vacation, but because you guided them into a meaningful experience.
