Inspiring Conversations with Taylor Glasco of Nurturing Nest Chiropractic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Glasco

Hi Taylor , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started Nurturing Nest Chiropractic originally as a House Call practice in the fall of 2020. A dear friend of mine approached me with the idea of offering home visits as she was pregnant with her second child in 2020 and would love the service herself. Not having to leave the house in uncertain times, pregnant, with a toddler in tow. By the end of summer 2020 I had a website, registered business, my portable chiropractic table, and I was ready to go! Things took off from there as I partnered with local midwives, doulas, and other birth providers in the area to offer house calls to pregnant moms, postpartum moms, and littles. Over the next two years I grew enough through word of mouth referrals that a brick and mortar space was necessary to continue expanding! In August of 2022 I moved into my first brick and mortar space in DeBary, FL. It was a tiny 500 sq. ft but it was mine. My husband and I poured a lot into building out that tiny space ourselves and making all my pinterest board ideas come to life. Nine months into our lease I was approached by my property manager about moving into a much larger space over double what we were in at the time. After lots of prayer I decided to take a leap of faith and move down the hall to our current space, just a year after we built out our first space. The leap was so worth it, we now have two chiropractors on staff, have the space to host multiple events a year, share space with a home birth midwife team, and a Clinical Nutritionist. I feel so incredibly blessed to be apart of the Central Florida community, offering a safe space of healing for moms and families!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not always been smooth, when I was starting out I was a couple of months post graduation from chiropractic school and the world was in the midst of a pandemic. I had very little money to put towards starting a business and had to be very creative my first year. Chiropractic school also does NOT prepare you for business owning. I was very thankful for my local small business development center. I was assigned an amazing mentor who was able to help guide me in to the world of entrepreneurship, and google became my best friend! Being 100% mobile definitely presented with some challenges I had not anticipated. In my two years on the road I replaced 7 tires, racked up 65,000 miles on my car, and sat in endless hours of traffic (thanks I-4 HA!)

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Nurturing Nest Chiropractic we offer prenatal, postpartum, pediatric and family wellness chiropractic care. We are not your run of the mill prenatal and pediatric office though. I specialize in breastfeeding challenges and fascial care. I am a CLC (certified lactation counselor) as well as trained in TOTs (tethered oral tissues). I see a lot of moms and babies who are struggling with breastfeeding, whether its from tongue and lip ties, torticollis, reflux, or overall tension. I am also trained in craniosacral fascial therapy or CFT so I incorporate a lot of fascial work and nervous system focused techniques into my adjusting. I also offer CFT stand alone appointments as well. Dr. Megan, my awesome associate chiropractor is also TOTS trained and has Craniosacral therapy training. She is currently working towards getting her BIRTHFIT provider certification. We are both Webster Certified providers but our prenatal care goes beyond that, we utilize tools from my doula training, spinning babies techniques, and a number of other trainings in prenatal chiropractic care to really give each of our moms individualized care throughout their pregnancy and postpartum journey. Another service we offer to all of our moms who see us during their pregnancy is the first newborn visit and postpartum adjustment at their home. We strive to provide a high quality of care that is very individualized, we take our time and really get to know you and your family. Our office is shoe-free and very much a “kick your shoes off and stay awhile” vibe. The biggest complement we get is that our office feels “homey”!

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I am originally from the midwest, so usually once a year we would road trip down to Florida for a week. That is how I fell in love with the ocean and decided I would come down here for grad school! I loved those road trips, we’d stop along the way for mini adventures and then our go-to spot was a tiny boutique motel on St. Pete Beach. I remember snorkeling for sand dollars, collecting sea shells, and getting so sunburnt I would blister!
