Inspiring Conversations with Traci Perry of The Mama Coach-Traci Perry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Traci Perry.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
As a pediatric nurse practitioner, I enjoy taking care of my patients and families. The culture of healthcare, however, does not lend itself to fulfilling relationship development. You are given “X” amount of time, and then in order to maintain a timely schedule, you must move on before some of all of the concerns are addressed. This is not how I wanted to conduct my practice as a professional, especially when it comes to parents who may be genuinely struggling and unsure of what they are doing with their new baby. Enter the Mama Coach opportunity- I have been able to take my skill set out of the traditional healthcare setting to provide support and coaching services to families who so desperately need them. Have you ever been so exhausted by a baby that won’t sleep? Having a second set of eyes to help guide you through the “troubleshooting” steps can be vital to both parents and babies well-being. By having a person to guide and support your through the challenges of parenthood, especially the early days, we can set you up for long-term success and fulfillment down the road.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The transition out of the traditional office setting into the capacity I am now has been challenging but rewarding at the same time. It is anxiety-provoking to leave a setting that you are comfortable in and branching out into an unknown territory. Prior to starting up my business as a Mama Coach, I didn’t have to worry about the “business side” of things. Now I am not only concerned about providing quality care but also engaged in activities that I never imagined I would, such as marketing and networking. This is not something we learned in nursing school.

We’ve been impressed with The Mama Coach-Traci Perry, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As an expectant and new parent, this season of life can be overwhelming. This is actually an understatement. I don’t know that there truly are proper words to describe this journey. As a Mama Coach, I am here to help all parents get started out on their best foot- regardless of how they came to be a parent: natural conception, reproductive assisted means, surrogacy, fostering, and adoption. I provide compassionate, empathetic and care and support without judgment at times parents can be most vulnerable and desperate throughout their parenthood journey. I can work with you from before your child is born all the way through toddlerhood and preschool. We can address any and all concerns regarding newborn care, lactation and feeding difficulties, sleep struggles, toilet training, and so much more. We can do meet both in person and/or virtually based around your COVID-19 comfort level as well as my client schedule. Sometimes you just need that fresh set of eyes to help you figure out your next move without all the bias of family and friends. This is what I, as your Mama Coach, am here for! All of my programs are based on not only science but real-world experience. In addition to providing private support and coaching services, I also offer different workshops and educational offerings. These services can also be conducted in person or virtually. You can rest assured you are in good hands when you hire me as an experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner turned Mama Coach.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned throughout this journey of supporting families is that no two families are going to operate the same way. Flexibility is key!
