Today we’d like to introduce you to Trevor Dupuis.
Hi Trevor, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Starting a business has always been a dream of mine since I was a child. I had gone back and forth with starting a lawn care business for years but it just wasn’t the right time. In January of 2022, my fiance and I were blessed to have our first child. After his birth I knew I wanted to be more in control of my time and where I was spending it. Going to my normal 9-5 where there was always uncertainty on if I would get the day off for his birthday or for other special events, I knew it was time to start. Unfortunately my father in law, John, passed away a few months before our son was born. However, I was able to purchase his pick up truck that I still use to this day as a work truck. Things just kind of fell into place after that. We had about $30, my father in laws truck, and a push mower. We were determined to make it work. We celebrated 3 years in May. We have won two awards in our community and we are forever grateful for our community’s support.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road that’s for sure! We have had a lot of challenges. Growing pains aren’t for the weak at heart. There’s been many times I’ve wanted to throw in the towel. I’ll never forget when my first mower broke and couldn’t be fixed. I had it in my head that I was done. I slept on it. I woke up thinking “there’s no way I can quit now.” So off to the mower shop we went.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Risks can be so hard when owning your own business because sometimes it really can be make it or break it. We have taken quite a few risks but also try to be extra cautious.
