Today we’d like to introduce you to Victor Santiago D.C.
Hi Victor, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My passion for joining the health field started when I was at a young age of 5, after recovering from a femur fracture. I was intrigued on the vision of helping others the way the doctors helped me, paying it forward. At first, I was interested in Ortho or Physical Therapy due to my passion for sports. I attended Interamerican University of Puerto Rico where I completed my undergrad, after 6 years I received my bachelor’s in Chemistry and a minor in Biology. During my time at UIPR, I was in a surfing accident that caused a neck injury. I found help at a Chiropractic office. This is where I was introduced to Chiropractic care, it helped me get a better understanding of how the body works. I got to see how the body truly heals itself under the right environment. When I came to visit Florida, I took a trip to Palmer College of Chiropractic and was completely fascinated with Chiropractic care. I attended Palmer College for 3 years and 1 year of community service. I received my Chiropractic Doctorate in 2014. I practiced/worked at an associate’s practice for 2 years. Then I decided to open my own practice with my wife who as well attended Palmer College and is a Chiropractor. We had a mindset of wanting to help our community by promoting a healthy natural lifestyle through Chiropractic care. Fast forward 5 years, we have helped more than 5,000 people and continue to look forward on helping many more while promoting a healthy lifestyle through Chiropractic care.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not been the smoothest but the most rewarding. There have been little struggles I faced on the way. One of the struggles I faced was in the years I was in school. Staying focus and applying myself, continuing to push myself to finish. After schooling, I was worried about finding an associate that would take a chance on me and allow me to continue to learn and practice. Being born and raised in Puerto Rico, Spanish was my first language. I was worried that the language barrier would hold me back or turn people away. Especially when opening my practice.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I believe I am a risk taker, and sometimes in life, you must take those risk to achieve goals. One of the major risks I took is starting my own practice. I decided to open my practice after two years of graduating from Palmer College. This was a risk not only because I was a fresh chiropractor but because this would be my first business. I started with a few funds, not many contacts or leads. We decided to locate in the East Orlando area. We just hoped the community would response well to our practice. Then 4 months later, my wife became pregnant. This news encouraged and pushed us more to strive for the absolute best for our practice. We want to leave a legacy for our family and show the good and help you could do in your community.
