Hi Vivian, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I always loved decoration and pastry, I did it in my country for my family and friends, but my profession there was different and I did it as a hobby, when I arrived here I started working as a sous chef in different restaurants, and for my 40th birthday I wanted a beautiful cake that looked like me, and when I went to investigate the cost, it was more than I earned in two weeks of work, so I decided to do it myself, when the guests arrived they told me wow, how incredible not only the cake but also the decoration and organization of my party that I did everything myself, they told me that I was wasting my time working for someone else, that’s when I decided to open my business, I created my company, and with fear of letting go, but I started little by little, each time covering more and more parts of the events, today we offer Wedding Planner Service, Decoration, furniture rental, Photo / Video, Cake, Dessert, Bartender, catering, we have a great work team, we are an important part of this City and we collaborate with non-profit events among them the quinceañero de enseeño, being its official decorator, my daughter Ariana Viera, was an important part in the creation of my business but unfortunately her departure was earlier than expected and since she was a professional model many people knew her and made our business known, her departure due to her accident was news that covered the entire world, and many supported us and there the company grew more, today I thank God for all the blessings and for the infinite love of my daughter who is here with us day by day
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been easy for customers to love us for how detailed we are, for the flavors of our cakes and desserts, it has been a process of learning, studies, and magical moments, the difficult thing was to continue creating magic knowing that my daughter had died, I had to work the day after finding out about my daughter’s accident, and continue feeling life, it was very hard, but she inspires me to be better every day and I remember with so much love that we do each event, that motivates me to do it better every day, for her I live and offer love to all my clients, I love my job, and I enjoy every smile of them, it is my reward after each event
We’ve been impressed with Decor Dreams & Cakes LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
is a company created to help with the planning of a wedding, quinceanera, baby shower, gender reveal, birthday, decoration, rental, we work with different budgets adapting to the budgets of each couple. How we differ, there are thousands of companies that offer similar services, here the difference is that in one place you find everything, so you would only have to deal with one person and we are the ones who coordinate the complete staff so that the event is as dreamed as possible, additionally the love with which we serve our clients is unique, since my business is not just a company, for me it is my home, where each client is another guest and is received with love
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define my success as a blessing, I owe it all to God, for the impetus I had from the beginning and the support of my family, who are my fundamental driving force.
