Today we’d like to introduce you to Zulkeira Pabon.
Hi Zulkeira, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hi, my name is Zulkeira Pabon, Licensed Esthetician and owner of Pabon Esthetics. I attended esthetician school back in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic. Due to me being hospitalized for two weeks because of COVID-19 and the few months I had to take to recover, I was not able to finish school until January 2022. It all started with my love for brows; I just loved shaping and waxing them so much that I decided to attend school to start doing what I loved for other peeps! Little did I know I would love everything that had to do with skincare (facials, makeup, and waxing). I started off taking friends and family members at home Monday to Friday after my full-time job and Saturdays and Sundays all day and grew my clientele little by little and mostly from word of mouth. This month, October 2023, I was able to start seeing clients outside of my home at a beautiful shared studio in a perfect location. I have so many plans and goals for my business, and I can’t wait to see what the future has for Pabon Esthetics; I’m sure it will be beautiful.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been a challenging road. One of the hardest things is to grow and keep a clientele; you have to get out of your comfort zone and hustle your way to success (which this hustle never ends). While being home-based, it was a bit scary not knowing who that new client was, etc., and not feeling professional enough, but I made sure my space was as clean and comfy as possible and always gave my all to each client experience.
We’ve been impressed with Pabon Esthetics, but for folks who might need to be more familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart?
I currently offer brow services and body waxing. I specialize in Brazilians! & I am a brow slayer. I am such a perfectionist, and I give 100% to each service I do repeatedly. What sets me apart from others is my vibe, and besides the excellent service that I provide, I am highly focused on the experience.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was a very indecisive person growing up; I have changed my career path so many times. I first wanted to become a flight attendant, then wanted to do nails, then started college and never finished it. But I am happy that even though it took me a few years, I have found what truly makes me happy, and I am giving it my all to be the best of the best at what I do.
