Julincy Garo shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Julincy, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: When was the last time you felt true joy?
“The last time I felt true joy was on July 26th, 2025, during our company’s national real estate convention. One of the speakers led a gratitude exercise where we had to thank someone who had impacted our lives. I was deeply moved to see a line of people waiting to hug me and express how I had positively influenced them. It was a powerful reminder of the impact we can have without even realizing it. That moment filled me with joy and purpose.”
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Yes, I’m Julincy Garo, born in Las Matas de Farfán and now proudly building my business empire from Punta Cana. I’m the Commercial Manager at Elite House Punta Cana, where I lead a team of nearly 100 local and international real estate advisors. With over 15 years of experience, I specialize in investment-focused and luxury real estate, helping clients from around the world discover smart, secure, and profitable opportunities in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
I’m also the founder and CEO of Spazio Creativo Punta Cana, a design company focused on creating elegant, functional, and Caribbean-inspired spaces. Beyond real estate and design, I serve as a Certified Productivity Coach, helping professionals maximize their performance with clarity and purpose.
In addition, I’m the Coordinator of AEI (Association of Real Estate Companies) for the Eastern Zone of the DR, working to elevate ethics and professionalism in our industry. My academic background includes a Tourism Business degree from PUCMM and an MBA in Business Management from EUDE European Business School—both of which have shaped my strategic, investor-centered approach.
What makes my story unique is how I combine vision, leadership, and heart to build businesses that empower people, transform spaces, and create lasting impact.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My father. Over 10 years ago, when I was just starting out in real estate and seriously considering giving up, he said something that changed everything. He looked at me and said, “I see you as the leading figure in real estate in this country. You’re the best, my daughter—you’ll see it one day.”
After hearing those words, quitting was no longer an option. He believed in me before I could believe in myself, and that vision has guided me ever since.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The second time I went bankrupt. It was one of the scariest moments of my life, and for a while, it held me back—until I made the decision that it would never happen again. I started studying how to better manage my personal finances and took full responsibility for my growth.
That happened in August, and I’ll never forget what my mother told me: “By December, you’ll be back on your feet—and in a better position than before. You know what to do, and you know you can’t make the same mistakes.”
She was right. Today, that experience is just a memory—a powerful reminder to stay present, aware, and in full control of my finances at all times. It no longer defines me, but it definitely shaped me.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in the real estate industry is the tendency to blame everything and everyone else for poor results—whether it’s the government, international monetary policy, the market, a colleague, or even the brokerage. It’s rare to see professionals take full ownership of their outcomes.
That’s one of the reasons I’m passionate about being a Productivity Coach—because I help people understand that their results are their responsibility, period.
For example, during the COVID-19 pandemic, many real estate agents left the business entirely. But I chose to transform the way I worked—and that year became the best year of my career, where I quadrupled my results. Why? Because I stopped looking outward and focused inward.
You have the power. That’s the truth.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I would stop procrastinating—something I battle with every single day. I make a conscious decision each morning not to allow myself to delay what matters. We simply don’t have enough time in this life to waste it—not just in business, but in our personal lives too.
A few years ago, I lost someone I loved like a little brother. He was only 23 years old, with so many dreams and plans that never got the chance to come true. That moment changed my life forever.
Since then, I’ve become intentional with my time. I schedule and follow through with what I know truly matters. I talk to my parents every day. I call my grandmothers. I tell people I love them. I see everyone I can, whenever I can. I visit the countries I dream of, try what I want to try… I live.
Every day.
