We recently had the chance to connect with Aline Fenelon and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Aline , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I am walking in a path of opportunities to give back to the community especially for mothers.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello! My name is Aline Fenelon, and I am the founder of Tough Cookie Mammas, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to empowering, supporting, and uplifting mothers through every season of life. Our mission is to create safe, nurturing spaces where moms can find resources, encouragement, and community—because we believe that when a mother is strengthened, an entire family is uplifted.
What makes Tough Cookie Mammas unique is our heart for the “whole mom.” We don’t just focus on one aspect of motherhood—we address mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical wellness. From self-care initiatives like Pinktopia: A Mommy Self-Care Giveaway, to community walks promoting wellness and awareness for childhood cancer, to panels that highlight women’s resilience, we are creating experiences that both celebrate and equip mothers.
My personal journey has shaped this vision—I’ve walked through trials that taught me the value of faith, resilience, and community, and I want to pass that on to other women who may be silently navigating their own storms. Right now, we are excitedly working on expanding programs and partnerships that bring practical support and hope to moms, whether through events, resources, or simply being a voice of encouragement.
At Tough Cookie Mammas, our motto is simple: strong mothers build stronger communities.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
The people who taught me the most about work are my parents. They showed me that hard work is about more than just a job—it’s about dedication, faith, and caring for your family. Watching them balance work with strong values taught me that success comes from perseverance and integrity, and that faith and family are the foundation that tie everything together.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there have been times I wanted to give up, but my faith and my mother’s wisdom have always kept me grounded. She taught me that this world is hard, but you have to keep going—that trials and tribulations are only chapters or seasons, not the whole story. One of my most difficult seasons was when my father passed away the day after my 16th birthday. I wanted to give up on high school, but I knew that’s not what my father or parents would have wanted for me. Thankfully, friends brought me back to church, where I regained my faith and found strength again. Later in life, I witnessed another miracle when my mother came out of a diabetic coma, reminding me that God has been with me every step of the way. My faith has carried me through, and it’s why today I call myself a prayer warrior—I believe every challenge has prepared me to serve others with strength, compassion, and resilience.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire my mother most for her character. She has faced so many hardships, including serious health challenges, yet she continues to show strength, faith, and resilience. She taught me that true character isn’t about power or position, but about perseverance, compassion, and trusting God even in the hardest seasons. Her example inspires me to keep going and to pour into others the way she has poured into me.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m in prayer and worship, because it allows me to center myself, let go of worries, and trust God with whatever I’m facing. I also find peace when I’m serving others whether it’s through ministry or community work because giving back reminds me of my purpose and fills me with gratitude.
