Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with hilario huizar of Downtown Orlando

We’re looking forward to introducing you to hilario huizar. Check out our conversation below.

hilario, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately, what’s bringing me real joy is traveling to Los Angeles using points from my credit card reward programs. I’ve been making regular trips out there, and one of the perks I look forward to the most is relaxing in the Amex Centurion Lounge before my flights. It’s a game changer. Free gourmet food, fast Wi-Fi, and a quiet space to recharge or knock out some work. All of that comes from understanding how to travel hack with credit the right way.

Being able to fly, stay, and experience more without draining my bank account reminds me that credit is a tool, not just a score. I teach people how to use credit to build businesses and fix financial damage, but I also live it. Travel hacking has helped me turn points into first-class upgrades, five-star hotel stays, and unforgettable memories with people I care about.

Los Angeles holds a special place in my heart. My family lives there, and every time I visit, I feel more connected to my roots. I’m seriously considering moving back full-time to be closer to them. The freedom that comes from understanding credit and using it strategically is what makes that decision possible.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Hilario Huizar. I’m a credit consultant, entrepreneur, and mentor helping individuals and business owners transform their financial futures through credit. I’m the founder of several specialized platforms including 700CreditScores.com, ITINCreditUSA.com, and my credit education membership at 700CreditMastery.com.

What makes my work unique is how I connect advanced credit repair, business funding, and travel hacking strategies into one complete ecosystem. I don’t just help people improve their credit scores. I show them how to use consumer law, Metro 2 compliance, and verified dispute methods to delete inaccurate items, establish business credit, and unlock high-limit funding and luxury travel.

My story began in Los Angeles, where I grew up dealing with poor credit and financial setbacks. That personal experience pushed me to study the credit system inside and out, from how data is reported by the bureaus to how the law protects consumers. Today, I use that knowledge to help others take control of their credit and leverage it as a tool for building a better life.

Even though I travel often, I continue working with clients in Florida and across the U.S., helping them remove inaccurate accounts, build business funding ready credit profiles, and use credit to create financial leverage and freedom.

Since 2014, I’ve helped over 500 clients remove negative accounts, rebuild their credit profiles, and collectively secure more than $150,000 in business funding. Inside 700CreditMastery.com, I teach my most advanced strategies, including how to travel the world using credit card points, miles, and rewards programs without going into debt.

Whether someone is starting from zero, recovering from denials, or trying to build credit with an ITIN, I provide a roadmap backed by results. My programs focus on execution, not theory, with clear steps and mentorship for lasting transformation.

Credit isn’t just about approval. It’s about freedom. When you know how to use it, you can fund your business, protect your family, and live life on your terms. That’s the mission behind everything I do.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
One moment that completely changed how I see the world and the credit industry was when I got scammed twice trying to fix my credit. I was in a tough spot financially and trusted two different companies to help me. Both took my money and delivered zero results. There was no real support, no education, and no strategy. Just copy-paste templates and advice like “dispute the account as not mine.” The problem was those accounts kept coming back verified because there was no legal foundation behind the disputes.

That experience showed me how broken and unregulated the credit repair space really was. Most people were guessing, not using consumer law, and certainly not preparing disputes with any legal structure. I knew there had to be a better way, one that followed the law and forced compliance from the credit bureaus and furnishers.

That’s when I started studying federal consumer laws like the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and diving deep into case law that had already set legal precedent, like Cushman v. TransUnion and Dennis v. BEH-1. I learned how to properly structure disputes using the legal language and framework necessary to trigger a real investigation and hold data furnishers accountable.

Once I saw how powerful it was to use case law and legal compliance in my disputes, everything changed. I started getting real results. That experience became the foundation of my entire approach, educating clients, writing legally sound disputes, and using the law as the leverage it was designed to be.

Today, that strategy is what drives my work at 700CreditScores.com and 700CreditMastery.com. I teach people how to take back control of their credit using the law, not shortcuts. That moment of getting scammed turned into the moment I found my purpose.

What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
I used to believe that sending a few basic disputes or copying what others were doing online could actually fix credit. I bought courses, joined groups, downloaded software, and used the same generic dispute letters everyone else was using. Most of it was surface-level and outdated. People were just disputing everything as “not mine” with zero legal backing. After months of trying, nothing worked. Accounts kept coming back verified, and I realized the entire approach was broken.

That failure forced me to think differently. I stopped chasing templates and started learning the law. I began studying consumer rights, FCRA statutes, and case law precedents like Cushman v. TransUnion. I learned how to build legally compliant dispute strategies that challenge data accuracy using the law, not assumptions. That shift is what took me from stuck and frustrated to actually getting results, both for myself and hundreds of clients.

I also failed in business by hiring too quickly and focusing too much on sales instead of client outcomes. Early on, I treated client calls like transactions. I closed fast, but people would cancel after a month or two because they didn’t feel supported or educated. That taught me that sales without trust and clear direction are useless.

Now, I build full client roadmaps and focus heavily on onboarding, transparency, and education. I don’t just repair credit. I teach people how to leverage it. Whether it’s business funding, ITIN-based credit, or full credit restoration, I help clients understand every step of the process.

The truth is, most failures came from trying to move fast without mastering the fundamentals. What changed everything was slowing down, learning the law, and committing to delivering real outcomes, not just promises.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The biggest lie in the credit repair industry is that you can fix credit in 30 days or faster. I constantly see ads promising 24-hour deletions, “secret hacks,” and overnight results. These false claims are everywhere, inside Skool groups, on social media, and in coaching programs where people are taught to skip the legal foundation and just flood the bureaus with disputes.

Many so-called credit experts are using unethical and illegal tactics. They encourage false identity theft claims, copy-paste generic letters from Google, and rely on outdated dispute templates. None of it is backed by consumer law or case precedent. It’s all built for speed, not stability.

But the consequences are real. I’ve seen accounts reinserted with stronger data than before. I’ve seen clients get calls from banks and creditors demanding explanations. I’ve seen open credit lines shut down without warning. Some people get flagged in the TransUnion sweep, which locks their credit file and triggers a series of denial letters. Others end up getting sued or have their wages garnished because they followed the wrong strategy and didn’t understand the legal risks.

That’s when I realized: fast doesn’t mean effective. Credit repair done right is a legal process. It requires knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, strategic use of case law like Cushman v. TransUnion, and legally compliant dispute formatting that forces data furnishers and credit bureaus to follow federal law.

At 700CreditScores.com and 700CreditMastery.com, I teach my clients how to protect themselves, how to challenge inaccurate data lawfully, and how to build strong credit profiles that lead to real funding and long-term financial leverage. The difference is simple: we follow the law, not the hype.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What will you regret not doing?
If I don’t build and lead the credit education community I’ve envisioned, that will be my biggest regret. I’ve seen what’s wrong in this industry. I’ve also seen how powerful it can be when the right strategies are applied. I want to be the person who sets a higher standard and creates a path that others can follow. Not just for fixing credit, but for transforming lives through education, legal empowerment, and real financial strategy.

I want to build a community where people are taught how to use consumer laws, take legal action in small claims court, and apply advanced tactics like Metro 2 compliance when appropriate. Most people are stuck using the same outdated letters with no understanding of their rights. I want to change that. I want to give people tools that are legally sound, ethically grounded, and built for long-term success.

At some point, I plan to leave the credit repair industry. But not until I’ve made a real impact. I want to leave knowing I helped thousands of people remove inaccurate accounts, secure business funding, and use credit to create leverage and freedom. More than that, I want to teach others how to lead with integrity and scale that impact even further.

If I don’t build that, if I don’t lead that movement, I’ll always feel like I missed the mark. And I’m not willing to walk away without creating something that lasts.
