Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Jessica Adams of Winter Park

Jessica Adams shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I believe wandering is often the key to finding your true path. Every day, people make choices that they believe are guiding them toward their destination. Others make unexpected decisions that, in hindsight, turn out to be exactly what they needed at that moment. Wandering is really about discovering yourself – taking the steps you need right now to grow, explore, and learn. It’s through wandering that we uncover what we love and become who we were always meant to be.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, my name is Jessica Adams, and I am a Senior Investment Manager for B&C Financial Advisors in Ponte Vedra, Florida. During the pandemic, my now-husband and I moved to Orlando for a job opportunity for him. Fortunately, I was already working from home, which allowed me to keep my position with B&C – a company I have been with since starting as an intern after college. I am incredibly grateful to be part of such an amazing firm. Every day, we help people maintain the lifestyle they’ve worked hard for by doing what we do best: managing their investments and providing thoughtful financial planning.

My husband and I began playing golf about three years ago. In the beginning, I mostly played with him and our male friends, which inspired me to look for a women’s golf group in Orlando. That search led me to LEGS (Ladies Executive Golf Society) – an incredible community of women who empower each other both on and off the golf course. I took a leap and joined their Pinehurst trip, where I met Jillian, our founder. I immediately understood why so many people are drawn to her leadership, and when she asked if I would consider becoming president of the Orlando chapter, I was thrilled to say yes.

At LEGS, our mission is to introduce as many women as possible to the game of golf – whether you’re an experienced player or have never picked up a club. We host monthly events at Heathrow Country Club, where you can choose to take a lesson or play nine holes alongside other incredible women who lift each other up. I’m honored to lead this amazing group of ladies and excited about the future as we continue to grow and inspire more women through the game of golf.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My mom has always been the one who saw me clearly, even before I could see myself. She has stood by my side through my toughest challenges and celebrated my greatest accomplishments. She’s literally put her own body on the line – hurting her back through every single move I’ve made in life – yet still shows up without hesitation for the next one. She has been my best friend, my biggest confidant, and my fiercest supporter. I would not be half the woman I am today without her, and I feel truly lucky to call her my mom.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
People will love you for who you truly are. You don’t need to mold yourself into someone else just to be liked. If someone doesn’t appreciate you, they’re simply not your people – and that’s okay.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
In most ways, yes – the public version of me is the real me. But I also have a “home” version that only a few people ever get to see. I have alopecia universalis, which means I have no hair on my entire body, so there are different versions of me that are all equally authentic. In public, I wear hair because it’s what makes me feel comfortable, but at home – without hair or makeup – I’m showing another one of my truest selves. We all have multiple versions of ourselves, some we share openly and others we keep private, and I believe both are important in life.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace on the golf course. The morning sun stretches across the fairway, the air is crisp, and the gentle chorus of birdsong fills the silence between swings. It’s just me, my closest friends, and the game. Golf is a quiet duel with yourself – every shot a reflection of your focus and your mindset. Out here, I decide how I react, how I play, and how I carry myself. In those moments, surrounded by nature and stillness, I find a calm that stays with me long after the round is over.
