We’re looking forward to introducing you to Joslyn Massey. Check out our conversation below.
Joslyn , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
My home. I recently purchased a house and it brings me so much joy because there is a lot of time, effort, and energy that went into it. The process of choosing the lot, choosing every details, and then watching the entire process from start to finish. I am truly blessed and grateful every single day. My will to never give up on my business and my clients is what allowed me to get here. Every single day I am grateful and it brings me joy.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Joslyn Massey and I am the owner of Infinite Legacies Basketball Training & The Massey Legacy Foundation. I was born and raised in Detroit, MI, a former D1 basketball player (Purdue/UCF), and a current basketball trainer in Central Florida and surround areas. My training business, Infinite Legacies, focuses on building people not just players. We want all of our clients to succeed in life off the court as well. We are family oriented so participate in many community activities outside of training. I have taken the same approach to Orlando Women’s Basketball, a local 501c3, as the president of the board. My goal is to reach and help as many people as possible through basketball, community, and love. This year of 2026 I’ll be expanding my reach by becoming to Director of Girls Basketball with 407 Basketball and the Director of the annual “Queen of the City” tournament this August hosted by Josh Howard. The sky is the limit!
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
The passing of my father in 2015 changed my perspective on everything. I realized that it did not matter what was happening in life, it could all be gone in a second. It took so much time for me to become whole again after loosing my father but I knew that I had to change. I could not follow the path I was on and go work in “the system”. If I wanted to make a difference and true change I had to take things into my own hands. Live each day like it’s my last and leave a positive impact on everyone I encounter. Infinite Legacies is me continuing my father’s legacy and building my own.
Do you remember a time someone truly listened to you?
Recently, one of my close friends was having a crisis and I asked if I could shed some light on the topic. I gave them my insight from their viewpoint and from the other party involved. Then I proceeded to give my opinion/advice. They listened and took it in, it went from a crisis to a simple misunderstanding. We get caught up in our emotions sometime and forget to put logic/reasoning first. Seeing things from multiple viewpoints can always help.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that freedom and love really matters to me. I choose to live as freely as possible with no issues or drama. Live life and love!
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
How I care for them and their families. It is so much more that a training program. I genuinely miss my clients when I do not see them for a week. I bring a special kind of love and joy to each session hoping to put a smile okay their faces.
