Karen Reid shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Karen, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
I am chasing the fullness of the gift God placed within me—the ability to create art that inspires, uplifts,
and draws people closer to Him. As a Christ follower, I believe this talent is not my own but a divine gift.
If I stopped, I would not only be silencing my own creative voice, but I would also be withholding the
very thing God entrusted me to share with the world.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, my name is Karen Reid, and as an artist, I go by K Marie. I am a “God Taught” visual artist specializing in creating intricate, heartfelt abstract works. My faith-driven art is deeply personal, inspired by the belief that creativity is a gift from God meant to be shared. Each piece is designed to spark emotion, reflection, and connection. I’m currently building my brand, K Marie Artworks, with the goal of not only selling my art but also giving back to local and global charities in the future.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I believe the bonds between people are broken by a lack of empathy, understanding, and
communication. What restores them is the willingness to listen, forgive, and approach others with
kindness and grace. True connection is built when we see each other through the lens of compassion.
When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
When I was sad or scared as a child, I would pray to God, read books, dance, write stories, watch movies — anything to uplift my spirits. Looking back now, I realize those struggles actually birthed my creativity. Even though I wasn’t happy or I was scared going through it at the time, I’m thankful today because it shaped who I am — the creative being I’m proud of.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I am committed to building my art brand, K Marie Artworks, into something that not only brings beauty
into people’s lives but also makes a difference in the world. While I haven’t partnered with UNICEF or
other charities yet, my hope and prayer is to use my art sales to support both local and global causes.
No matter how long it takes, I will work toward that vision.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I know this gift is not just about me—it’s bigger than me. It’s a divine connection, God’s fingerprint, and I
am simply the vessel. I want to be remembered as someone who loved deeply, was loyal, resilient,
respectful, caring, kind, and persistent through all of life’s trials and tribulations. Most of all, I want
people to say I inspired them to use their own gifts for good.
