Melvin, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
The thing that is most misunderstood about producing and creating music is that it’s not about money or just making beats, It’s the time that I could be keeping someone out of trouble or just a moment of freedom for a person to express themselves and how they are feeling without being judge.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Gainzm3 an Orlando based music producer and creator of the clothing brand All Gainz No Losses
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
I Would say my mom and my grandparents, I was 7 years old playing the drums and traveling to play as I got older.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
yes, in the beginning of my career like the first two years it was hard to find anyone that wanted to make music it seemed like I was going to make it nowhere and I just had so many ideas but no one would listen or wanted to work with me but I just stayed focus and kept on my path.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
yes, I am the same all day everyday in public or private I feel like it makes life easy so you don’t have to act when your around a crowd of people you can just be you.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That no matter how a day was going good, bad, sad I still work hard and kept a smile on my face, if someone around us or on the team was having a bad day I would make sure I lifted them up and would not stop until the had a smile on there face.
