Life & Work with Alexandra Rolón

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Rolón.

Hi Alexandra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We are a husband (Ariel) and wife (Alex) duo. When we purchased our first home, we had a lot of homes to grow into with little furniture and let’s be real, money!! So Ariel started to experiment with woodworking. He started with a shelf, then a farmhouse table, barn door, and the list continue! I have always enjoyed crafting since a kid. When I went away to college, my Cricut machine came along with me. I began creating home decor items to fill our home as well. Ariel and I combined our talents and His & Her Workshop was born. We started with farmhouse signs and now offer a variety of items to help real estate agents and title companies create memorable closing days for their clients.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The hardest part for me has been social media. I am a complete introvert. So when it comes to sharing and showing my personality, it is totally out of my comfort zone. I love what I do, but showing up on social media is hard. I have been trying to get on camera more often and our followers notice and cheer me on. So that makes it totally worth it!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We help real estate agents and title companies create memorable closing days for their clients with our custom products. We understand how important it is for them to stay top of mind and a lot of thought goes into creating our custom gifts. I take pride in creating the majority of our designs so that our clients have something unique. We have started offering custom signs to reflect each real estate agent’s branding and style. This has been especially fun to see our products fit perfectly into agent’s branding.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Over the past year, I would say I have taken some of the biggest risks of my personal and professional life. See, I have been a stay-at-home mom for nearly ten years. We have three kids. We launched His&Her Workshop in July 2020. Then in August, I decided to go back to school to finish up and earn my bachelor’s degree. At the same time, the perfect job presented itself to me where I was able to use my creative talents while working from home and still being with my little ones. There were definitely some struggles and times I thought I couldn’t make it. I am so blessed to have the support and help of Ariel and my family. I graduated in December 2020 and as cliché, as it may sound, that time made me realize I can accomplish what I set my mind to.
