Life & Work with Cierra Warren

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cierra Warren.

Hi Cierra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started photography back in 2015, however I put the camera down to go back to school and I was going through a rough time. Fast forward to 2019, and I picked back up the camera. I was actually starting Nursing School and wanted something to do to help with the stress of school and also just to simply go out and have some fun. I found that when I did photography, even if it were just a short moment to go out and shoot, it helped with my anxiety and depression, I was able to express myself in so many different and creative ways that I never in a million years thought I could before. So, here I am, three years later, better than ever, doing what I love and letting nothing stop me. I would not have gotten here without the support and encouragement from my friends, family, and strangers that developed into the amazing friendships I never thought I would have.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has most definitely not been a smooth road. It’s hard learning something new. Technology is changing constantly. Being in Florida, there are a million other photographers all trying to be successful in this industry. It’s hard being the “new photographer” on the block as I like to say. Finding people to trust you to capture them in a beautiful way can also be tricky too. But for anyone wanting to become a photographer, I say get out there. Get tons of practice. Shadow other photographers. Take classes and know that it is ok to make mistakes because that is how we learn. No one woke up one day and was a perfect photographer, or at least I didn’t wake up that way LOL. The hardest struggle was having confidence in what I did. Now I can say confidently, YES! I can do that or my photos are valuable and worth the investment.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an aspiring Luxury/Boudoir Photographer. I still take on a lot of family sessions and engagement sessions here and there. Even weddings too. However, I would like to specialize in Boudoir and Luxury Photography overall. I am most proud of how far I have come in the photography world. I get to travel and do what I love. I get to be creative and explore new things. I even get to meet new people and watch the people I have met grow. I think what sets me apart from others is that I am always up for a challenge. I like to try new things and test the limits. I am very responsive to my clients and make sure I can take the time to answer any and all questions they may have.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
A lot of people actually do not know that I travel and even that I can plan their entire session to include makeup, outfits, location, and even a timeline, depending on what kind of session it is. I make planning their session easy so that they do not have to lift a finger! A lot of people also didn’t know but have realized now that I actually do travel to do what I love. Lastly, when finalizing images, it is important that I have the people closest to me view images to make sure I am delivering the absolute best!
