Life & Work with Lynne Schaffer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lynne Schaffer.

Lynne, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I wanted to work for myself and be a business owner ever since I can remember, but I had the opportunity to become more serious about planning and executing it within the past few years. My career began with and evolved to a Regional Artist for Christian Dior cosmetics for 15 years. I always say that they basically raised me. They taught me the business skills that I utilize in my own business today. There was a definite shift in my life that contributed to me taking the leap of faith and starting my business when I did. I was living and working in New York and I had a spiritual experience that suddenly shook my world, got sober and I’ve been in recovery ever since. I’m grateful to be on this beautiful, spiritual journey of growing and learning one day at a time in my business and personal life.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I don’t think that you can ever avoid struggles along the way in life, in general. But, I believe that obstacles are opportunities in disguise and that challenges help us grow. This gives us a chance to optimize our business and life choices. A perfect example of this is having a business during covid-19. Although it was somewhat of a mentally painful experience, my business actually grew during this time. Pain is the touchstone of growth.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m known as a Professional Makeup Artist, Creative Director, Stylist and Business Owner; but I want our community and customers to know that our business is not just about makeup, fragrance, skincare and fashion – It’s about people, connections, purpose, communication, love, self-expression, creativity, inspiration. It’s about helping people feel more confident and more beautiful. I like to call it Fashion Therapy, Creative Therapy, Fragrance/Fashion Psychology. My brand represents MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS and SELF-CARE because when you look and smell good you FEEL good!

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I’m definitely a risk-taker! I’ve learned that you have to have faith and take the ACTION. Once you take the action, everything falls into place!
