Life & Work with Adelaida Mendoza

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adelaida Mendoza.

Adelaida, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
From a Teacher to a Fairy godmother

This adventure began in 2014 as a hobby / “It was my Part-Time Job ” in order to save money, enjoyed Disney Parks instead of doing another year teaching Summer School. I created a Facebook Group where I share my “orejitas” experiences and memories.

Summer 2015 – I attended MVP Boot Camp for the first time which IMPACT my life so much without knowing that from that moment I would give a 360 degree turn in becoming a Travel Specialist. This was the birth of Orejitas Magicas with approximately 600 followers.

Spring 2016 – I had the privilege of attending their first conference in Mitchell, Indiana where the annual MVP Awards Ceremony was being held. To my surprise, I did not only get the recognition of “Rookie of the Year” but I also won 2nd place in sales where I sold that year over 350K in Magical Vacations. From that moment I realized that the passion and adrenaline that I transmitted in creating those Magical Vacations to my families from my personal blog “Orejitas Mágicas” promised a future not only full of magic but full of memories.

During the conference, I was offered the opportunity to become a team leader and be in charge of the Hispanic Group. They support me so well and believe in me wherewith my experience & ideas I could inspire other people to continue in this dream called Magical Vacation Planner as an Independent Contractor.

Winter of 2017, I made one of the most difficult decisions of my life, giving up my teaching career after almost 25yrs years of teaching in elementary school to dedicate myself 100% to my new passion for being a travel specialist where my family has been recognized me as their Fairy Godmother. Without the support from my family and mentorship from JJ & Jamie Eubanks and Michelle Stroud partners from Magical Vacation Planner, probably I would not have taken that big step in my life.

Everything comes at the perfect time. In early spring 2018, we attended the awards ceremony at Disneyland. That year I had 2 important goals to achieve. #1 To grow my network on social media that grew to 30k followers and #2 Become part of the Million Club in sales. Both goals that I was very proud to achieve.

In 2018, my sales exceeded all expectations and my media has grown side by side (Facebook, Instagram). Due to the fast-growing of my business had to build a team with three assistants.

In 2019-2020 I obtained again Platinium Level for highest sales. Also, exceed my own expectations on my network with a growth of up to 75k followers and growing on all media platforms.

2021-2022 During this period of time I concentrate on communicating with my “families” (customers) providing up-to-date information for travel. I expanded my media network (Facebook, Instagram. TikTok, Clubhouse, and WhatsApp Business) increasing to 90k members. Also invested in marketing mentorship with Alvaro Mendoza from Emprendores Digitales and financial advisor from CPA Hispano Francisco Garcia de Quevedo. All accomplishments up to this point have been with a team that has assisted me to innovate myself. Ending my year by doubling my sales goals and am on my way to surpassing my previous goals.

During this process, I have realized how I have empowered myself to step out of the box and not be afraid to go after my dreams by building a team and maintaining a team that has the same views. Also, to be able to share this with other dreamers, that if you dream it you can go after it and step out of the box.

In conclusion, every year is a new adventure full of that special magic full of “adrenaline” that drives me to be a successful businesswoman and to inspire other entrepreneurs to not give up their dreams.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Obstacles to putting a team together that has the same views but the biggest obstacle to challenging myself to not give up.

I can say one of my biggest challenges was staying afloat during the pandemic but the help and inspiration of my “families” (members) have taught me to have the empathy and endurance to overcome this obstacle.

Some of the biggest obstacles and challenges are the ones we put in front of us. My biggest competitor is myself.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialized in creating magical memories with a personal touch.

I am known for giving excellent and personalized travel advisory to my “families” (customers/followers)

I am proud that I have been able to assist more than 3k families (customers) in my travel advisor network.

What sets me apart from others, I make sure to give a personal touch and assist in creating those memories that were mine.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
To find a good mentor ensure that the credentials and experience can be verified. For networking be consistent, do not be afraid to express yourself, and continue innovating yourself.

What has worked for me, is that I realized actual be myself, learn from others but do not imitate them as I am different.
