Life & Work with After Dark of Orlando (Winter Park)

Today we’d like to introduce you to After Dark.

Ronald Plymale

Hi After Dark, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I could sit and talk all day long about my story and what made me the man I am, but honestly, music just saved my life. artist like Juice WRLD, DC The Don, Travis Scott, Kid Cudi & Kanye West inspired me so much… it just sparked a flame inside of me you know ? I knew in my heart that I wanted to be the voice for others the way these artist were a voice for me. All I wanna do is inspire the next “Kanye West” out there, so that he can go on to do the same you know?

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say my life has a fork in the road every other week. But life isn’t about counting forks in the round, it’s about navigating around them. I lost my dad at 14 in a car accident and he was the provider in my family, and then 2 1/2 years later, my mom had overdosed on fentanyl. I would say that the hardest part of it all is done, as far as pain anyways. I’m almost numb to it, not like I don’t have emotions, but more so, I will never hurt as bad as the pain of losing my parents, so it’s like “well this can’t be that bad?”, you feel me? I also get a lot of hate on the internet for being me. People like to flock in sheep nowadays and it’s a trend to hate on people. My appearance doesn’t help, by no means am I close to being the “coolest” rapper out there, but I try to be myself at the end of the day, because i’m not doing it for the haters, and for the most part, their opinions shouldn’t influence my decisions. My word of advice – Don’t let anyone tell you who you can or can’t be. Of course some things really aren’t for everyone, but if you put your mind to it, the sky is the limit!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I make music! I don’t just make songs about anything either, I make songs that are true to me and my emotions. Sometimes I just lay it all out there, other times I use metaphors to explain how I’m feeling, but ultimately Music is like an outlet for me to speak my mind to the world. I wanna go on to be a business man some day, open a radio station, start a clothing brand, do collaborations with big companies, but we got to focus on the work in front of us right now!

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Anyone can feel free to reach out to me on Social Media, I try to interact with everyone and give them some of my time. As far as support, just streaming my music and spreading the word of mouth is the most you can do for me! It means everything too! I love all of my supporters to death. It’s part of the reason I do this and work so hard.
