Life & Work with Akeila and Uquail Scott

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Akeila and Uquail Scott.

Akeila and Uquail, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Our channel, Kee and Q, is named after us—Akeila and Uquail. We’ve been dating since our senior year of high school in 2016, and we’ve known each other since 6th grade in 2009. We launched our YouTube platform, “The Life of KeeandQ,” five years ago in 2019.

While we weren’t consistent initially, we began posting more regularly and expanding to other social media platforms after our son Kyree was born in 2021. Since then, we’ve been sharing our journey and content consistently! From couples-related content to family content, and even comedy, we do it all on our channel!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road.

Over the years, we’ve had to learn the algorithms of different social media platforms. It wasn’t until the end of last year and the beginning of this year that we figured out how to create content that appeals to viewers. We’ve had to master creating attractive thumbnails, titles, tags, and everything else that comes with managing social media.

Social media is like a big stage, and you have to stay consistent and relevant. We have had to navigate how to get brand deals and determine how much our content is worth.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We create entertaining social media content on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and occasionally TikTok. In addition to our fun videos, we offer advice for couples and parents, drawing from our experiences and knowledge gained over the years.

What we’re most proud of is staying true to ourselves. We don’t fake our videos or our relationship for views. We genuinely enjoy making content and sharing it with our supporters!

Any big plans?
We have so many exciting plans for the future! Currently, we’re planning our wedding and reception, which will take place this November. Q is also in the early stages of starting his own business.

Early next year, we’ll be looking to build or find our dream home and possibly expand our family with a new baby!
