Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandrea Acevedo.
Hi Alexandrea, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always really enjoyed event designing, planning, and balloon artistry. I’ve always been my friend and family member go to the event planner for every event, ever. So, I woke up one day and decided “Why don’t I turn this into a business?”
I was 6 months pregnant in 2021 with my youngest when I had the idea so I’m sure I seemed crazy when I decided to go for it. Pregnancy didn’t keep me down though; I’ve always been very active and worked through all 3 of my pregnancies. So just like that, I was lying in bed, 6 months pregnant, doing research on the industry and figuring out what I needed to do to get started, and just the next week, off I went! My business took off QUICKLY.
Just in the first year I already exceeded 100 clients. I am extremely grateful for my business and everyone who has supported me along the way. I always say Fab and Float is my 4th baby. I love this little business and the relationship and community I’ve gained in the process!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The entire journey has been a learning experience. I try things and then change them, and learn daily.
I feel that I learn something new or a better way to do something with every single event. It’s gone as smoothly as a new business owner could hope but I have no complaints. I love what I do!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a full-service event designer, planner, and luxury balloon artist. I specialize in corporate events. And honestly (they’re my fave) don’t get me wrong, I love a good extravagant birthday party but I feel that corporate is where I get to express my creativity.
The majority of the time when someone comes to me, I get full creative freedom. I’m given a theme and I get to dream up everything else. Then comes a venue walk-through. As I’m walking through I immediately envision exactly how I want everything to be, down to the smallest detail Getting to see my vision come to life is my favorite part.
What do you think about happiness?
My main source of happiness is my little family. My supportive husband, Michael, I mean let’s be honest.. my business getting up and off of the ground wouldn’t have been possible without him!
He’s always been in my corner every step of the way. And then of course my sweet kiddos, Beckham, Adelaina, and Macallister. They are the lights of my life. It’s also my favorite when I walk through the door after an event and they can’t wait to see what I’ve created!
