Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexia Rivera.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born in Venezuela to Colombian parents and have one older sister, Cynthia. In 2000, I relocated to the United States. The following year, I enlisted in the United States Navy, where I served for 13 years.
During my military career, I had the opportunity to travel extensively and experience a variety of cultures. I was stationed in Italy for four years, followed by four years in California, where I worked in the media department as a photographer. While in California, I also explored modeling in my free time. My next assignment was in Maryland, where I served as a photojournalist at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
After completing my military service, I moved to Florida, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration in 2012 and a Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship in 2023. I went on to launch two businesses: La Borsetta LLC, an online clothing boutique, and La Borsetta Travel, a travel agency.
My professional interests expanded into acting and public speaking, leading me to pursue formal training at Truthful Acting Studios and The Maile Image, Modeling & Acting School in Orlando. These programs helped me connect with others in the industry and take part in local film organizations such as the Orlando Independent Filmmakers (OIF). Through OIF, I landed roles in short films including “Hospital” by Kimberly Dipersia and “Anyone But Me” by Lonnie Jackson. I also worked on “Guard My Heart” by Kareem Everison, where I contributed both as an actress and a visual artist by collaborating with him in creating the painting featured in the film.
Since then, I’ve participated in additional film projects and booked background roles in commercials for brands such as Disney, Universal, and Dish Latino, as well as appearances in television programs including “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” and “Cobra Kai”, through Central Casting and CAB Casting. In 2024, I signed with Level Talent Agency and Talent Direct.
I continue to be involved in projects related to acting, fashion, wellness, and media, with a focus on expanding my work in the entertainment and creative industries.
I’m deeply passionate about my faith in Jesus, as well as art, fashion, health, wellness, and personal growth. These passions have been instrumental in shaping my journey as a speaker, actress, and model. Through my work, I aim to inspire others to pursue their dreams and walk boldly in their purpose—just as I’ve been inspired by incredible mentors like coach Pilar Ortiz, Julie Menden, Yasir Khan, and Apostle Rose Caine, among others.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not really. Shifting from a structured military life into the creative world of fashion, acting, and entrepreneurship came with challenges. I’ve dealt with fear and anxiety especially when it came to putting myself out there in auditions, public speaking, or launching something new. There were plenty of moments where I questioned myself or felt unsure about what was next.
But one thing that’s always kept me going is my drive. I’m persistent and focused, and even when things have felt uncertain, I’ve kept showing up and putting in the work. That consistency has opened doors, for example, when I landed the opportunity to walk in the “Pasarela White 2025” Fashion Show through an open casting call with Project 24 Academy. It was competitive, but I went for it, and it turned into something meaningful.
So no, the road hasn’t been smooth. But staying motivated, being resilient, and trusting the process has made the bumps along the way worth it.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an actress, model, and speaker dedicated to empowering women. I act in films and commercials, walk the runway at fashion shows, and speak on topics that inspire especially within the Christian community, focusing on businesswomen, health, and wellness.
While I’m currently most known for my work in film, I’m expanding my presence in both modeling and speaking engagements. What I’m most proud of is my flexibility not just in my career, but in life. I’m able to shift and grow through each season, finding a healthy balance between acting, modeling, and speaking. What sets me apart is my ability to remain grounded in my faith while pursuing a multifaceted career that encourages and uplifts others.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I was a very creative girl, I loved drawing, painting, hiking with my dad. I participated in so many activities. and I was very passionate about protecting the environment. I had a dream of being on TV
