Today we’d like to introduce you to Alice Payne.
Hi Alice, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We’d always dreamt of moving to Florida and living close to Disney, but the dream started turning into a reality when I got pregnant with our third baby. We made the decision to move to Central Florida from Upstate South Carolina a few months into my pregnancy. But we also knew we wanted to keep our doctors in SC until birth. My husband got his job in September of 2019, we sold our home that November, our baby was born that December, and then we moved to Florida two weeks later, in January 2020.
Disney has always been so special to a great outlet for my mental health and me. I knew I wanted to go as often as I could. And we bought our Annual Passes the day after we moved! When my husband starts his job, I started taking all three of my kids by myself (my littlest baby was only 15 days old when he first went). We had a routine of often going until COVID caused the closure of Disney, but we started back again when the parks reopened. We visit about 3-5 days a week and I actually document it on TikTok! We are living our dream life here and I’m so grateful.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey was really hard, but the destination was so rewarding. During my pregnancy, I suffered from antenatal depression. Which was actually our driving force for moving. Also, one of our sweet family members let us rent their furnished home for two months in between moving. We are so incredibly thankful for that, but I was very homesick during that time.
Thankfully, most things fell into our laps. My husband, fortunately, got his dream job and they were even willing to wait for him while we moved! Our house sold pretty quickly. And we were able to find a wonderful realtor down here too.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a content creator on TikTok! I make videos about motherhood, lifestyle, and Disney. Most of the videos are about what it looks like to take my kids to Disney alone and I usually wear dresses while I do it! I share tips, vlogs, and Disneybounding ideas. I also use my videos to inspire others to chase their dreams and move to wherever their heart chooses.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I think staying positive and simply sharing the magic is so important!
