Today we’d like to introduce you to Allanah Bratz.
Hi Allanah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always had a passion for animals and I always wanted a career where I can be creative and care for animals. Four years ago, I went through grooming academy and became a professional pet stylist for the corporate world. Although corporate grooming gave me my start, there was not much time for growth between for a client/groomer relationship. Corporate grooming is a conveyor belt system that runs you dry and under appreciates you. I realized I could do something better, with the help of my husband we created The Copper Dog. My vision of professional dog grooming, luxury and comfort salon came true! I wanted my clients to experience what a true grooming salon should be for their pets. I offer one-on-one consultations so I can understand the needs of every pet, premium products, and mobile grooming as an extension of my salon so I may bring a high quality salon experience to them. This is only the beginning for The Copper Dog!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been easy! Getting the word out that has been the hardest part!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’ve always been really creative from painting, sewing, and beauty. I began to wonder how I can incorporate some creativity and working with animals. Now I can do hair color for dogs and I do breed specific specialty haircuts or “show-cuts”.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Most people don’t know that I’m working on creating a clothing brand as well. I love sewing and I’ve always wanted to have my own clothing line.
