Life and Work with Amanda C

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda C.

Hi Amanda, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m 28 of Haitian Descent, I started off as a confused “unhealed” victim of sexual abuse/domestic violence, I let go of the victim’s Mindset and claimed victory. I started off doing support groups sharing my story, as a child, I first went through sexual abuse at five and it eventually carried on into my teen years. I was beat on, depressed, drugged, in a coma, and more. I turned to drugs and alcohol to cope but it honestly made things worse. (I do none of these things now) Sharing my story helped more and started my healing process as well as other women, men too. Transparency has always been key! What started off as simple support groups actually turned into events that hold 100’s of people I was able to quit my full-time job and turn my passion into my paycheck.

Five years later, I’m a full-time entrepreneur. I host all types of networking events. Before all of this happened, I went through a storm but also had my umbrella not too far away, I had brain surgery and seizures still went back to school and taught myself everything, I dealt with self-harm, I was in toxic relationships, and I doubted myself. I had to give myself a pep talk a million times. It’s safe to say I followed my dream, which wouldn’t be possible without my supporters!

I’m healing, I’m happy, I’m in my bag, I host bomb events, I’m working on becoming a networking guru (Instagram (letmeventSis), I have a great circle, amazing family, and a beautiful daughter who will never experience the things I had to. I’m super grateful that I lived to tell my story. 🙂

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not always been smooth, I had people not believe in me, people threw dirt on me and downplayed everything I did. I cried so much about the lack of support but one thing I never did was give up. Now the support is more than I could ever imagine.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I host networking events, I love bringing people together, I love helping entrepreneurs get the exposure that they deserve. It literally puts a smile on my face every time and I’m super passionate about it. I even cry if things do not go right, it’s never about the money for me, more so the experience.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I would literally go the extra mile to make sure you are good.
