Life & Work with Amanda Nethero of Clermont

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Nethero.

Hi Amanda, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
New Heights Communication began as a leap of faith, following years of experience in nonprofit marketing and communications. I saw a real need for organizations—especially those doing incredible work in their communities—to have access to thoughtful, strategic storytelling and marketing support that didn’t feel cookie-cutter.

I launched New Heights with the goal of helping businesses and nonprofits elevate their voice, build stronger connections, and ultimately make a bigger impact. What started as a handful of social media accounts and press releases has grown into a full-service social media marketing and events agency trusted by chambers of commerce, health foundations, arts organizations, and community events across Central Florida.

I’m proud of the relationships we’ve built and the stories we get to tell—because at the end of the day, it’s about people. Whether we’re helping a local nonprofit celebrate a big grant or promoting an event that brings families together, our work always circles back to community, connection, and purpose.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not always a smooth road—but I think that’s where the growth happens.

When I first started New Heights Communication, I wore every hat—strategist, designer, copywriter, scheduler, and sometimes even therapist (entrepreneurs know what I mean!). Learning to balance client work with business development, finances, and my own life took time—and a lot of trial and error.

One of the biggest challenges has been setting boundaries, especially in a field where clients are passionate and timelines are tight. It’s easy to want to say yes to everything, but I’ve learned that sustainable growth means being intentional with time and energy.

Another hurdle has been scaling the business in a way that still feels personal. I never want clients to feel like they’re just a project—we’re partners in telling their story. So finding the right collaborators who share that same heart has been key.

It hasn’t always been easy, but every bump has made the business—and me—stronger.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At New Heights Communication, we specialize in strategic storytelling—simply put. Whether it’s social media management, public relations, branding, or event marketing, everything we do is rooted in connecting people to purpose. We work with nonprofits, community organizations, and mission-driven businesses to make sure their stories don’t just get told—they get heard.

We’re probably best known for bringing clarity, creativity, and heart to everything we touch. Our clients know they can count on us to not just make things look good, but to make them mean something. From launching new initiatives to helping organizations navigate sensitive messaging, we’re often the behind-the-scenes team helping everything come together.

What sets us apart is that we never take a one-size-fits-all approach. We dig deep to understand the heart of the organization and then build messaging that truly reflects their mission. We’re not chasing trends—we’re building relationships and crafting messages that last.

I’m most proud of the impact we’ve made for our clients. Seeing a nonprofit grow its reach, a community event break attendance records, or a small business finally feel seen and supported—that’s the kind of success that fuels everything we do.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
To me, success is about impact and alignment.

It’s not just about numbers or recognition—it’s about knowing the work we’re doing is making a difference for the people and organizations we serve. When a client feels more confident in their voice, when a campaign helps connect a nonprofit to the community, or when a story we helped shape inspires someone to take action—that’s success.

It’s also about alignment with my values. If I’m building a business that supports my family, uplifts others, and allows me to show up authentically every day, then I know I’m on the right path. Success isn’t a finish line—it’s the ability to keep doing meaningful work, with people I believe in, in a way that feels true to who I am.
