Life & Work with Andrew Floyd

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Floyd.

Andrew Floyd

Hi Andrew, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Floydie. I am a songwriter, producer, and audio engineer based in Orlando, FL. I am also the founder and Chief Operating Officer of Ultimate Talent Global Agency, a model and influencer agency. I’ve been writing music for over 22 years and have been in the music business for over 14 years. I am a talent and brand manager specializing in working with independent artists to create a memorable and monetizable brand. As an artist myself, I am keen on a lot of the different aspects of life that artists deal with. This gives me an advantage as a talent manager. My goal is to help artists continue to grow and make a living off of their music.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It certainly has been a challenging road. I’ve had my fair share of trials and tribulations in the music industry, from contract disputes to financial mistakes. However, a lot of my success has come from learning from these mistakes. This serves my bigger purpose of helping independent artists avoid some of my mistakes.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I always like to say that I am an artist before anything. Being an artist and pursuing a career in the music industry opened many doors for me and UTG Agency. I’m not a typical executive. I’ve been writing music and audio engineering for a long time. I like to be hands-on when dealing with artists and creatives while giving them space to create freely. With the music industry changing and the power transitioning to independent artists, I’ve committed myself to learning as much as possible about this new terrain and helping artists navigate through and make a living off their art.

Networking and finding a mentor can positively impact one’s life and career. Any advice?
I highly recommend mentorship at any level for anybody. Having a mentor who has achieved high levels of success in your corner can help you elevate yourself more quickly by learning from your mistakes and successes.
