Today we’d like to introduce you to Anne Henry.
Hi Anne, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a mom of 2 from the DC Metro area who, on a whim with a friend, decided to start documenting my Disney trips through Instagram in 2017. It started as just a silly way to keep track of outfits and snacks, but quickly grew into a networking machine, friendship builder, and amazing creative outlet. Some of my closest friends I met through our mutual love of Disney, and it’s also afforded me opportunities I never thought would exist for me to work with incredible brands like Vera Bradley, BaubleBar, BoxLunch Gifts, and more.
When 2020 hit and TikTok took off, it was a new way for me to express myself. I’ve mostly done niche Disney comedy videos at home up to this point, but have recently started branching out into food and parks content, and have been enjoying finding a new creative voice through video.
All to say, what started as a silly hobby idea grew into something much bigger than I imagined, and I never would have never guessed that content creation would be something so pivotal in the path my life took!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There’s definitely struggles when content creating. Keeping up with trends, posting regularly, and figuring out the ever-evolving algorithm are among the top challenges! Being a Disney creator is also a highly competitive space, so finding a niche that works for you can be challenging! After I had kids I took a step back, which ultimately impacted my engagement and growth, but I’ve been jumping back in, and am already being “rewarded” with better engagement and views! I’m always looking for the next great idea.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
When not content creating, I’m a hairstylist! I was a corporate drone for over a decade, but decided in 2022 that I was ready to be creative professionally on top of personally! I took a year off work to go to cosmetology school (while pregnant!) and graduated in 2023 and jumped feet first into the beauty industry. I’m now working in a salon suite in Windermere, and have been able to channel a lot of what I learned from my Disney Instagram to my hairstylist page. You can check me out if you’re looking for a stylist by following @worldofhaircolor on Instagram!
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory was theme parks with my family. My mom is an adrenaline junkie, so she and I have been doing coasters and other thrill rides together as long as I can remember! You can still catch us hands up on Tower of Terror or Rock’N’Roller Coaster!
