Today we’d like to introduce you to Brenda Knapik.
Hi Brenda, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Prior to being a Travel Advisor I had many years of professional experience running a high-volume dental practice where I excelled at customer service, organization, and planning. I decided to leave the dental field and take some time to enjoy life and travel. I always knew I would work again when the right job came along. It was fate when Winds in the East Travel Agency posted that they were hiring. I love to work with people of all ages, plan, organize and travel. I was beyond excited when I learned that I was officially part of the fantastic team at Winds in the East. Being a Travel Advisor is a childhood dream come true for me.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Though I never pictured myself working in dentistry, the road has been fairly smooth except for the fear of change. I was always afraid to make a career change. I enjoyed the patients and getting to know their families. It was when the dentist that I was working for decided to give up general dentistry and focus on specialty dentistry that I decided I needed to let go of the fear and make the change. It was the best decision I have ever made. I encourage others to not let fear of change stop them from chasing their goals and dreams!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Travel Advisor with Winds in the East Travel Agency. I can plan any type of travel. My favorites to plan are all types of Cruises (including River Cruises), All- Inclusive Resort vacations, Disney, and Beach vacations. What sets me apart from others is that I am comfortable chatting and planning travel with all age groups. I love to get to know my clients and learn about their interests. I enjoy a phone call over a text message. Giving my clients the best customer service experience is my number one priority. I want to ensure that the vacation that I plan for them is the best one that they have ever taken. Due to my years in the dental field, chatting with patients, doctors, sales reps, co-workers, etc., I feel that I may have customer service skills that others do not. I take tremendous pride in the vacations that I plan and look forward to helping each client plan their dream trip! My motto has always been, when in doubt take the trip!
